I have just upgraded Kubuntu 8.10 to KDE 4.2 and the problem seems to be fixed there. Public bug reported: ftp:// and sftp:// in both Dolphin and Konqueror on KDE4 do not display non-English unicode file and directory names correctly. [Bug 115283] random system freeze when desktop-effects activated
Public bug reported: When I activate Desktop-Effects the system freezes randomly, it only works the mouse cursor but it doesn't allow to click anything. If there is any sound track playing it keeps on playing until the song end. Then as i said i can only move the mouse.
