[Bug 2056518] [NEW] Update urwid from 2.6.4 to 2.6.8: fixed known bugs and regressions

2024-03-07 Thread Aleksei Stepanov
Public bug reported:

Urwid 2.6.8 contains fixes for known issues and potential crashes:

* Allow wcwidth to select unicode version (allow to force via environment
variables, unlock prehistoric wcwidth support)
* Special case: in case of Columns/Pile empty - use fallback sizing (was render
problems with gerrit client)
* Always support FLOW for Columns sizing if not BOX-only (was render problems
with gerrit client)
* Fix rows method for Columns in case of FIXED only widgets present (was crash
on pack call, while render worked correctly)
* Columns: pack and render should produce the same size if some widgets skipped
(very old bug causes incorrect rows calculation in case of columns with
weight=0 present)
* Fix MainLoop.watch_pipe regression for the callback outcome not False
* Fix regression: Overlay not accepted relative positioning

** Affects: urwid (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Summary changed:

- Update urwid: fixed known bugs and regressions
+ Update urwid from 2.6.4 to 2.6.8: fixed known bugs and regressions

working you can close the lid, wait for the laptop to sleep and then
click power button to wake it up. Then when you open the lid the touch

[Bug 1852077] [NEW] Backport: bonding: fix state transition issue in link monitoring

2019-11-11 Thread Aleksei
Public bug reported:

There's an issue with bonding driver in the current ubuntu kernels.
Sometimes one link stuck in a weird state.
It was fixed with patch https://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg609506.html in
upstream.
Commit 1899bb325149e481de31a4f32b59ea6f24e176ea.

We see this bug with linux 4.15 (ubuntu xenial, hwe kernel), but it
should be reproducible with other current kernel versions.

queue_wb_lat_store() was added only at 4.19 due to
c125311d96b1bfcce0f5930a4f0fdfe39ea14f7c
I think, we can skip it for 4.15.

So, i'm asking to backport this one -

[Bug 1815733] Re: unnecessary request_queue freeze

2019-02-13 Thread Aleksei
** Description changed:

  Hi all,

In linux-4.15, which is used as hwe-edge in xenial, there's an unexpected
behavior. It results in latency spikes of generic_make_request() function call.
  How to reproduce:
    1. Run fio:
    fio --name=test --rw=randwrite --direct=1 --filename=/dev/sdt --iodepth=1
--fsync=1 --ioengine=libaio --write_lat_log loglat
    2. While fio is writing to the device, change nr_requests setting to the
same value as current:
    echo 256 > /sys/block/sdt/queue/nr_requests
or: if scheduler is already none:
    echo none > /sys/block/sdt/queue/scheduler
    3. Stop fio and check slat log:

[Bug 1815733] [NEW] unnecessary request_queue freeze

2019-02-13 Thread Aleksei
Public bug reported:

Hi all,

There're a few patches to fix this behavior:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/axboe/linux-block.git/commit/?h=for-5.1/block=e5fa81408fb43ebabde65938ef8b20ae879017e7

Could this be backported to 4.15 kernel for xenial/bionic?

[Bug 1803664] Re: do-release-upgrade from xenial to beaver

2018-11-16 Thread aleksei
apt-get install -f, dpkg --configure -a and so on commands shows that all ok.
No conflicts or unresolved dependencies. But really when I have try to install
wine on via aptitude many errors with packages dependencies was shown. After
fixing showed errors one-by-one do-release-upgrade finish successfully but
without gnome-desktop.
Now all seems to be ok, except computer starting message about missing
partitions. But after 'press any key' OS loads successfully.

Any way you can close this thread.

[Bug 1626283] Re: lenovo t420s very slow wifi after dist upgrade 14-16

2018-01-01 Thread Aleksei
sorry - The config above is not working as well. I mean - it is unstable - it
may give 35 MBit/s
or 0.5 MBit/s. No relation with '11n_disable' setting found. I tried several
kernels - 4.4.10 - but haven't been able to find stable working one - so the
question is still open

[Bug 1725560] Re: OVMF UEFI firmware causes Windows 10 w/ GPU passthrough to not boot after upgrade

2017-10-24 Thread Aleksei Kovura
I'm also hitting freakishly long IDE boots with latest edk2/ovmf, QEMU 2.10.1
and win7 x64 guest.
A workaround for me was to to boot the VM with win7 iso, virtio iso and drive
image all on ahci bus; then assign C: to windows partition and inject drivers
into it from virtio cd with "dism /image:c:\ /add-driver
/driver:e:\win7\amd64\viostor.inf". After that windows can boot off virtio
interface.
When/if you guys need additional info - I can do tests/bisect, let me know.

I've read before of that bug - one had an opinion - it is rarely reproduced bug

Re: [Bug 911958] Re: transmission-gtk job with memory

2012-02-10 Thread Aleksei
Спасибо за ответ. После последнего обновления и обновления программы до
последней версии (вышла спустя несколько дней после появления проблемы),
проблема разрешилась.

2012/2/10 Krzysztof Klimonda kklimo...@syntaxhighlighted.com

 From Google Translate::
After a kernel update linux, started transmission. The program was
load the memory by 46 percent, and so, HDD constantly working.
 Downloads do not go.

I don't really know what to make out of this, VmRss is indeed a bit high
(over 200 MiB) but I'm not sure how could kernel upgrade result in that
(also it probably gets bigger the more torrents you have).

If it's still happening can you attach content of the /proc/`pgrep
transmission-gtk`/smaps? If there is nothing weird there then maybe
 there is some caching issue?

[Bug 708544] Re: Keyboard shortcuts do not work

2011-06-22 Thread Aleksei Lissitsin
In Xubuntu 11.04 (with Xfce 4.8.0), this is back to normal. Shortcuts
work ok.

Not sure about 10.10. But if no one complains, must be no one's bothered
by this.

There are CD and SMB mapped disks icons on my desktop.
Sometimes such error does not appear, but I cannot say when.
