[Bug 85969] Re: Java Docs Package Won't Install

2007-08-27 Thread alex_mayorga
@Matthias

Doesn't the Operating System Distributor License for Java (DLJ) covers
the Docs as well?

When I installed the sun-java6-bin package it showed me the
corresponding license and when I accepted it installed.

Regards and keep up the great work.

[Bug 123920] Re: Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse won't work in LiveCD

2007-08-21 Thread alex_mayorga
I have the same Logitech set and to make it work I had to unplug and
then plug again the Bluetooth receiver and I got back the keyboard and
mouse, pretty much the case outlined on the link posted by Pascal.

If there's anything else needed I'd be glad to help.

It would be also good to know the bug upstream if it ever was raised.

Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

Also from salmo's dmesg looks like bug #92088 is still a problem on this

[Bug 74486] Re: Wrong boot hdx,x in menu.lst

2007-06-19 Thread alex_mayorga
There's only one hard disk present in the machine, and is the only one
detected by the BIOS.

Since then I've reinstalled and this went away. But I believe the bug is
real and that grub should "intelligently" check if the partitions have
changed and update menu.lst accordingly, if possible.

I believe some work can also be done so the default boot option gets
updated once a new kernel is installed (this has been troublesome in my
mother in-law desktop, that still resists to Ubuntu, given that often I
forget to revise the menu.lst after updates and she gets locked out of
her familiar Windows installation)

Jérôme,

I saw this happening on a totally updated Feisty as of yesterday. It's
very confusing; I had to poke the mouse, give many three finger salutes,

I can confirm it in Feisty.

[Bug 107864] WPC54G wireless card crashes Feisty

2007-04-19 Thread alex_mayorga
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Feisty crash whenever I try to configure my Linksys WPC54G Ver.2 802.11G
PC Card via network-manager. The Num Lock and Caps Lock LEDs flash in
sync and Feisty would become unresponsive.

I find a report on the forum from a user with a similar card Ver. 1.2:
"I use a Linksys WPC54G v1.2 PC Card to wirelessly connect to my router.
I've searched the forum for other difficulties with this card, but my
problem seems to be unique. Here are the symptoms:

I can boot into Ubuntu without problems. The card's power indicator
lights, but not link. However, if I attempt to modify the wireless
connection preferences, the computer goes into a hard lock upon clicking
"OK." Neither the keyboard nor the mouse respond and the only option is
to forcibly shut down (by holding the power button)." at

[Bug 92088] Re: this does not work with dell 1390

2007-04-09 Thread alex_mayorga
I've stumbled into this post in the bcm43xx development list
https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/bcm43xx-dev/2007-April/004438.html

Any chance that patch would make it into Feisty RC?

Patching a kernel is still out of my league so if anyone can put it in
layman terms or make it "just work" i would be grateful.

2007-04-09 Thread alex_mayorga
Eugenia,

I've corrected the title of this bug for you.

Sitsofe,

I'm seeing exactly the same as Eugenia on a Insiron 1501 on a fully
updated, as of yesterday, Feisty.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci -v | grep Broadcom

And bunch of:
hostname kernel: [17179624.668000] bcm43xx: Error: Microcode
"bcm43xx_microcode5.fw" not available or load failed.

I've also linked Answer# 3839

Let me know how can I assist to get this fixed.

Thanks in advance

It has happened to me every time on that site. I've been using the Flash player
for about 12 hours now. And is the only real blocker to fix Bug #1 on my
desktop. To hear Yahoo! Music is the only blocker for me to kiss the closed
source OS goodbye.
I cannot test the Yahoo! Video player without Flash on Ubuntu and I usually
have the page running all the time on the background and it has crashed on me
pretty badly two times in a couple of hours.

Just confirming that as of September 21, 2006 the problem still exist on
Dapper Drake and this work around got me through:

cd /lib/firmware/`uname -r`/acx/default
sudo mv tiacx111c16 tiacx111c16.old
sudo ln -s ../1.2.1.34/tiacx111c16 tiacx111c16
sudo rmmod acx
sudo modprobe acx
