[Bug 1760272] Re: Quickly freezes XPS 13 at boot

2018-04-01 Thread alexism
Hello.

Same problem here on an Alienware 15 r3 with this kernel. The boot seems
to go till the end but the x server never starts. Can still boot using
the 4.13.0-31 kernel.

[Bug 1351266] Re: Window is maximized on wrong monitor (dual-monitor)

2015-12-18 Thread alexism
Hello,

I have a very similar problem but with slight differences. My version of
compiz is 0.9.12.2

I have a laptop with a gtx 965M nvidia graphic card installed using
nvidia-358 drivers.

How to reproduce.
1. Plug in an additional monitor of the left
2. Change the corresponding settings in the "System Parameters"
3. Drag a window on the left (additional) display
4. Click the maximize button

Observed result
The window is maximized on the right (laptop) disaplay
Expected result
The window should be maximized on the left (additional) display

Notes:
Interestingly, the problem does not occur when the additional display is put on
the left of the built-in display.

[Bug 1527557] [NEW] On laptop with dual monitor the additional monitor scrolls down both diaplays when set above the built-in monitor

2015-12-18 Thread alexism
Public bug reported:

I'm running a 15.10 64 bits ubuntu
I have a nvidia GTX 965M graphic chipset with nvidia-358 drivers (had the same
issue with nvidia-352)

How to reproduce:
1. Plug in additional monitor
2. In system settings, configure the additional monitor so that it is above the
built-in monitor

Expected behaviour:
Two different desktop (?) should appear on each monitor and the mouse should
move from one to the other when reaching the limit of each display.

Observed behaviour:
When the mouse is in the built-in (bottom) display, both screen show the same
image / desktop.
When moving the mouse cursor beyond the limit of the built-in display, the
image on the second (top) monitor scrolls up until it shows the second desktop.
When moving the mouse cursor back to the built-in (bottom) display, the image
on the top monitor scrolls down until both monitors display the same image.

I have attached some photographs, since the bug is difficult to describe
properly with words

[Bug 653626] Re: Asus N90sc Notebook does not boot without pci=noacpi, nolapic or acpi=off bootoption [Maverick]

2011-10-09 Thread alexism
I have the same problem on an asus x90s under natty.
It boots with nolapic (but one cpu is missing) or acpi=off (but no battery
managment and the special jeys won't work). pci=noacpi has the same effect as
acpi=off.

After some test it seems that pci=noacpi allows the use of battery
managements but the notifications comes with a delay of 5 to 20
