[Bug 2055153] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: I have booting related issue everytime I install NVIDIA-driver on Ubuntu 22.04 So the main problem is everytime I boot, Ubuntu would either (1) boot fine (25% of the time) (2) boot takes long time(about 2 min) (50% of the time) (3) boot fails (25% of the time) This symptom disappears when I uninstall NVIDIA driver so I'm pretty sure it is related to NVIDIA driver but I don't know how to fix it. For case (2) (boot takes long time), black screen with '/dev/nvme0n1p6: clean, *** files, *** blocks' hang for a long time. For case (3) (boot fails), blackscreen with 'iwlwifi : invalid buffer destination' 'ACPI BIOS Error (bug): could not resolve symbol [\_TZ.ETMD], AE NOT_FOUND' 'ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.IETM._OSC due to previos error (AE_NOT_FOUND)' 'Bluetooth: hci0: Malformed MSFT vendor event: 0x02' 'INFO: task plymouthd: *** blocked for more than *** seconds' '"echo 0 > /prc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message' 'INFO: task gpu-manager: *** blocked for more than *** seconds' '"echo 0 > /prc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message' This screen appears and doesn't boot or blackscreen with cursor appears and doesn't boot. It happens quite randomly and it really is frustrating and want to resolve this issue. I've tried various things but it didn't work out. Here are some things I tried - deleting and reinstalling NVIDIA driver with 'purge, autoremove, apt install' - Installing different driver version(525, 535, 545) - trying boot-repair program - disabling nouveau by modifying /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf - 'nomodeset' by modifying /etc/default/grub (made it worse.. all boot fails) - tried various kernel version with various Ubuntu version (my laptop is very new device so 20.04 had issues with touchpad, wifi, etc, therefore I mainly tried 22.04) However none of them seemed to resolve the problem I am facing. It showed different symptoms time-to-time but mostly all of them were boot- related. I am using a dualboot with windows I am kind of lost and kindly ask for help. [Bug 1874096]
In my understanding, it is not so much of the random destruction order or QObject's, but that all QObject's in Python has to be destructed before QCoreApplication. PyQt already solved it if the QCoreApplication is created from the Python side, by ensuring all QObject's destruction before QCoreApplication. but since in our case QCoreApplication is not created from Python, their solution doesn't do anything for us. In our case, the KritaPyQtPlugin destructor (and thus PyKrita::finalize) is called during the destructor of QCoreApplication, which might be triggering UB? So I wonder if the proper way to clean up is to call PyKrita::finalize earlier, perhaps we can use the QCoreApplication::aboutToQuit signal? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874096 Title: Closing Krita normally always result in "Krita closed unexpectedly" notification on Plasma To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/krita/+bug/1874096/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1773324] Re: [SRU] rabbitmqadmin shows %%VSN%% as version
Hi Bryce, I looked into the Makefile and it seems that prepare-dist target is used when producing the erlang plugin archives (.ez files) and not when building the package itself. Based on the build server documentation[1], all is the default target that is why I used that fix. There's a difference between the sed commands though, the fix replaces the version inline the rabbitmqadmin file itself but for prepare-dist it's generating a new file. Sorry just to be clear, upstream is the rabbitmq-server repository itself right? I haven't approach them about this problem and whether it's a good fix. I'll do that and get back to you. [Bug 1773324] Re: rabbitmqadmin shows %%VSN%% as version
Hi! I'd like to work on this bug. I am targeting fix for bionic. This is my first bug and I'll give it my best. I've already created a package and able to change the version message using sed as mentioned in previous comment but the string is hard coded. How do I get the correct version of the package to use in place of %%VSN%%? Thank you! ** Changed in: rabbitmq-server (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Alvin Joseph Tang (alvintang3) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1773324 Title: rabbitmqadmin shows %%VSN%% as version To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rabbitmq-server/+bug/1773324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1574598] Re: Nautilus can't move files (at least images) in a stable way
I've seen a variation of this for nearly a year and it's been bugging me to no end admittedly mine may be a different issue about 50% of the time when I copy/move a file nautilus will segfault it seems related to the generation of icons I've not gotten any useful data out of running nautilus in a console and looking for an error code, just says segfault I'd be happy to run a development copy with a debug mode so I can track it down, this has persisted in an upgrade from Ubuntu 16.10 to 17.04 how I can help track this down? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574598 Title: Nautilus can't move files (at least images) in a stable way To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1574598/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 227359] Re: suddenly keyboard event recognition gets really slow after multiple suspend/resumes
I am a semi-newbie. I get the problem of keys being echoed to the screen many seconds after I type them. I am running on a 32 bit machine at 2.6 GHz processor and 4 GB ram. Re: [Bug 1462583] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS install with FakeRaid (DMRaid) - unable to install GRUB
I was able to get around it. But used only 3 of the 6 drives in the system. Disabled the onboard RAID and used SoftRAID via Ubuntu 14.04 Server, then went with Xubuntu-desktop (for minimalistic aesthetics). Booted install with NODMRAID option and answered No when asked to Activate onBoard SATA RAID, then used Ubuntu to setup SoftRAID. Created 3 non-RAID partitions (at the beginning of each striped drive - for boot loader), then made the raid parts for swap & root. Installed but declined on MBR install for Grub2 (since it didn't work last time for me), but managed to install it on the 3 non-RAID partitions I created on each of the drives (as I set them all bootable; /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc). Despite seeing the loading sequences (somehow, the splash doesn't show despite modifying the grub config file to "quiet splash") it works. Thanks for the reply. [Bug 1462583] [NEW] Ubuntu 14.04 LTS install with FakeRaid (DMRaid) - unable to install GRUB
Public bug reported: Decided to annihilate Windows 7 from my dad's computer and install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on it... and I thought Windows 7 was problematic (for my dad to use - in my case - install). Tried numerous things, but too tired (and upset) to explain. Have to figure out what to do now. I'm assuming this is an issue with linux lack of support (or updated support) for dmraid or fakeraid. Despite searching the vast internet for clues on how to get this resolved, each time it it concludes to GRUB not being able to install. Thought I was close bypassing dmraid and using mdadm to manually create raid partitions, but it too concluded to the same fate - of GRUB not being able to install. I'm pretty new to the Linux-scene. Have been using Windows since 3.1, but have started to ween off it with other successful installs of linux (ubuntu, xubuntu, linux mint..). The installation seems to recognize the fakeraid partitions as it completely went through the entire installation with the exception of the GRUB installation.
