[Bug 352777] Re: Network manager immediately disconnects from ad-hoc network
I got the same behaviour at first. Ad-hoc networking would not work if i used "Create New Wireless Network". The solution was to create wireless profiles and install iptables: - Ad-hoc profiles with manually configured ip addresses did always work. Use "Connect to Hidden Network" to find the preset. - Ad-hoc with the "Shared to other Computers" method worked after I installed iptables (and dnsmasq). Since then, "Create New Wireless Network" also works. I guess that "Shared to other Computers" is the default for Ad-hoc networks. In that case, iptables and dnsmasq should be part of the standard distribution. [Bug 69784] hp laserjet 6l simply doesn't work
Public bug reported: My HP LaserJet 6L, in pretty good condition, simply doesn't work with Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft. It used to work until yesterday, until my upgrading; before I used Dapper Drake. Now the system can't recognize the printer while Windows XP can. I tried to configure it manually, selecting lp0 as port and HP LaserJet 6L as printer, but it just prints strange charachters. ** Affects: cupsys (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- hp laserjet 6l simply doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/69784 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
