[Bug 834240] [NEW] custom icon theme resets to ubuntu-mono when opening appearance properties

2011-08-25 Thread appi2012
Public bug reported:

When opening the appearance properties window (to, say, change the
background) my icons are all reset to the default ubuntu-mono ones. This
should not happen.

To recreate the issue:
1. use dconf-editor or gnome-tweak-tool to change icon theme.
2. right-click on desktop, select "Change Desktop Background"

A better scenario would be leaving the icon theme as it was set, and
showing "Custom" as the theme. Another button would open a dialog to
edit, individually, the icon, gtk, and window-border themes.

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Confirmed

[Bug 582809] Re: Synaptics Clickpad touchpad buttons are not working

2011-08-11 Thread appi2012
@wvzimmer: The link is working for me.

I'm planned to test Oneiric on my dm1-3000. On the live CD, the clickpad
still wasn't working. I plan to install it later. Could someone confirm
that these patches do work in Oneiric alpha?

Thanks

I'm getting this in onieric as well. For me at least, I can't do
anything other than force a reboot. This should have a higher priority,
IMO.

[Bug 804893] Re: Panel opacity should change the indicators' menu opacity

2011-07-09 Thread appi2012
I, personally, prefer having my menus opaque, since it sets them apart
from my transparent panel. I think this should be set through the GTK
theme, not compiz. It should at least be optional.

I would propose doing two things:
1. Slide to make the selected icon completely in view
2. Draw the quicklist with the pointer lower down.

in fact, if you delete the text in the menu, it changes to an
appropriately colored "post to: facebook," so most likely, the problem
lies in indicator-me

[Bug 620702] [NEW] insensitive menu text is too hard to read

2010-08-19 Thread appi2012
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: light-themes

In the light themes that are shipping with maverick, in the Ambiance
Beta, the insensitive text in the menu is giving a sunken in effect.
However, because the menus are dark, and the text looks even darker, the
low contrasts makes it really hard to see. This is a problem especially
in the date-time indicator, since the date is shown in insensitive text,
and currently it is too hard to read.

[Bug 460363] Re: Scrolling in netbook-launcher left pane is slow

2010-02-26 Thread appi2012
It appears that netbook launcher is simply dividing the distance it
needs to scroll by a certain number of scroll wheel clicks; you need to
scroll the same amount to reach the bottom of the page. For some pages,
this makes it really slow. For others (like System) it means scrolling
is really fast, and jumps in huge increments.

All that needs to be done is set a constant offset for each scroll click
instead of having this amount be a fraction of the entire page.

[Bug 15495] Re: "Archive Manager" doesn't mean anything if you don't know what an "archive" is

2009-07-06 Thread appi2012
If the word Package is reserved for .debs, why don't we call an archive
a "parcel" or something similar. Also, it would make more sense to call
.debs "Applications," as that is more specific than packages, and call
archives, which may or may not be applications "packages."

Archives, to combine files and/or to compress them. It gives a more
intuitive name, which a new user could understand.

Instead of not adding the feature because it doesn't fit the name,
change the name so it fits the feature. Development should not be
stopped just because of what something is called.

Also, why can't a queue be shuffled?
