When plugged in for the first time, they act like a flash storage and start installing the driver from there. If the driver is already installed, the storage device vanishes and a new device, such as an USB modem, shows up. This is called the ZeroCD feature. . On Debian, this is not needed, since the driver is included as a Linux kernel module, such as usbserial. However, the device still shows up as usb-storage by default. usb-modeswitch solves that issue by sending the command which actually performs the switching of the device from usb-storage to usbserial. . This package contains the binaries and the brother scripts. Public bug reported: When I scroll (uzing mouse wheel) I see repeated rows not really exsisting I also noticed that it happens when I scroll in unfocused window (if I have 2 Calc windows and move mouse to another window without click) Steps to reproduce: 1. open 2 calc windows 2. move pointer to another window without changing focus (without click) 3. scroll up or down several times Current behavior: info on screen incorrect, but file is not corrupted. [Bug 812913] Re: poor console performance if dbus-launch run with --exit-with-session
The same problem affects me also (I login to remote server via ssh with X11 forwarding). The real problem is that dbus-launch is eating chars from stdin (tty) while waiting for SIGHUP. I don't understand what for it's reading stdin while waiting for SIGHUP... Below is a smple code: if (tty_fd = 0) { if (FD_ISSET (tty_fd, read_set)) { int bytes_read; char discard[512]; verbose (TTY ready for reading\n); bytes_read = read (tty_fd, discard, sizeof (discard)); verbose (Read %d bytes from TTY errno = %d\n, bytes_read, errno); if (bytes_read == 0) kill_bus_and_exit (0); /* EOF */ else if (bytes_read 0 errno != EINTR) { /* This shouldn't happen I don't think; to avoid * spinning on the fd forever we exit. */ fprintf (stderr, dbus-launch: error reading from stdin: %s\n, strerror (errno)); kill_bus_and_exit (0); } } else if (FD_ISSET (tty_fd, err_set)) { verbose (TTY has error condition\n); kill_bus_and_exit (0); } } } -- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/812913 Title: poor console performance if dbus-launch run with --exit-with-session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dbus/+bug/812913/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 772415] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 hangs waiting timezone window
The same with me here. I think it's may be caused by time server unaccessible (the firewall/filter?). After waiting for some time (5-10min) the process unfreezes and installation is going on. In all the case it is a very annoying situation, because the window is totally friezed and timeout is too long. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772415 Title: Ubuntu 11.04 hangs waiting timezone window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/772415/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 463536] Re: msmtp-gnome is not installable
I've also was affected by this bug. I want to use msmtp as MTA for evolution, but can't install it... What should I do next: - compile from source (from Debian repo)? - try to install Debian binary? - wait for a fix in Ubuntu? -- msmtp-gnome is not installable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463536 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
