[Bug 1580559] Re: ifmetric don't understand ppp interface for PPPoE

2016-05-11 Thread atimonin
This happens if I try to use

ifup pppoe-provider

instead of

pon pppoe-provider

so the workaround is simple (just don't use ifup for such interface),
but error message is confusing...

My be should check $METHOD (static|dhcp vs ppp etc) in /etc/network/if-
up.d/ifmetric ?

Description: mode switching tool for controlling flip flop USB devices
 Several new USB devices have their proprietary Windows drivers onboard,
 especially WAN dongles. When plugged in for the first time, they act
 like a flash storage and start installing the driver from there. If
 the driver is already installed, the storage device vanishes and
 a new device, such as an USB modem, shows up. This is called the
 ZeroCD feature.
 .
 On Debian, this is not needed, since the driver is included as a
 Linux kernel module, such as usbserial. However, the device still
 shows up as usb-storage by default. usb-modeswitch solves that
 issue by sending the command which actually performs the switching
 of the device from usb-storage to usbserial.
 .
 This package contains the binaries and the brother scripts.

[Bug 1091783] Re: Confusing log message init: failsafe main process (...) killed by TERM signal

2015-01-15 Thread atimonin
I was also confused with this main process killed by TERM.
And I also shure the message should be more descriptive about killed, but it
is OK

[Bug 1271591] Re: upstart job race prevents gnome-keyring from being ssh agent

2014-10-07 Thread atimonin
It seems a better way would be to fix
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/90x11-common_ssh-agent
(to start ssh-agent before gnome-keyring-daemon or not start it at all)
According to man page use of initctl set-env --global is discouraged

[Bug 508522] Re: Mic is not available with A2DP Bluetooth profile

2014-10-02 Thread atimonin
For Skype (at least) there should be a workaround using notification scripts
and switching
profiles as in
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth_headset#Switch_between_HSV_and_A2DP_setting
for ex.:
pacmd set-card-profile 2 a2dp

[Bug 1346262] [NEW] Screen jam in LibreOffice Calc

2014-07-21 Thread atimonin
Public bug reported:

When I scroll (uzing mouse wheel) I see repeated rows not really
exsisting

I also noticed that it happens when I scroll in unfocused window (if
I have 2 Calc windows and move mouse to another window without click)

Steps to reproduce:
1. open 2 calc windows
2. move pointer to another window without changing focus (without click)
3. scroll up or down several times

Current behavior: info on screen incorrect, but file is not corrupted.
If I close and then open it all looks OK

Maybe it's not LibreOffice, but Gnome bug, but I don't know how to check
it.

** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: screenshot

[Bug 1287222] Re: openssh-client 6.5 regression bug with certain servers

2014-05-06 Thread atimonin
I also hit this connecting to Cisco, log from cisco:

SSH2 0:  Invalid modulus length

For me

ssh -o KexAlgorithms=diffie-hellman-group14-sha1 x.x.x.x

works fine.

It affects not all Cisco, mainly old ones are not affected.

[Bug 1274225] [NEW] dhcpd.pid file is different in /etc/init/ and /etc/init.d

2014-01-29 Thread atimonin
Public bug reported:

in /etc/init/isc-dhcp-server.conf (near end of file)

exec dhcpd -user dhcpd -group dhcpd -f -q -4 -pf /run/dhcp-
server/dhcpd.pid -cf $CONFIG_FILE $INTERFACES

in /etc/init.d/isc-dhcp-server

# try to read pid file name from config file, with fallback to
/var/run/dhcpd.pid
if [ -z $DHCPD_PID ]; then
DHCPD_PID=$(sed -n -e 's/^[ \t]*pid-file-name[ \t]*(.*)[
\t]*;.*$/\1/p'  $DHCPD_CONF 2/dev/null | head -n 1)
fi
DHCPD_PID=${DHCPD_PID:-/var/run/dhcpd.pid}

The default dhcpd.pid file location differ (should be same).

So if you'll try to do:
/etc/init.d/isc-dhcp-server restart
you'll get TWO dhcpd servers!

[Bug 812913] Re: poor console performance if dbus-launch run with --exit-with-session

2012-11-20 Thread atimonin
The same problem affects me also (I login to remote server via ssh with X11
forwarding).
The real problem is that dbus-launch is eating chars from stdin (tty) while
waiting for SIGHUP.
I don't understand what for it's reading stdin while waiting for SIGHUP...
Below is a smple code:

if (tty_fd = 0)
{
  if (FD_ISSET (tty_fd, read_set))
{
  int bytes_read;
  char discard[512];

  verbose (TTY ready for reading\n);

  bytes_read = read (tty_fd, discard, sizeof (discard));

  verbose (Read %d bytes from TTY errno = %d\n,
   bytes_read, errno);

  if (bytes_read == 0)
kill_bus_and_exit (0); /* EOF */
  else if (bytes_read  0  errno != EINTR)
{
  /* This shouldn't happen I don't think; to avoid
   * spinning on the fd forever we exit.
   */
  fprintf (stderr, dbus-launch: error reading from stdin:
%s\n,
   strerror (errno));
  kill_bus_and_exit (0);
}
}
  else if (FD_ISSET (tty_fd, err_set))
{
  verbose (TTY has error condition\n);

  kill_bus_and_exit (0);
}
}
}

2012-01-26 Thread atimonin
I've found out that this bug (and it is of cause a BUG) doesn't show up if all
configs for vsftpd are straight:
if shell is nologin, it should be /usr/sbin/nologin in /etc/passwd, it should
be mentioned also in /etc/shells, etc.

[Bug 772415] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 hangs waiting timezone window

2011-09-07 Thread atimonin
The same with me here. I think it's may be caused by time server unaccessible
(the firewall/filter?).
After waiting for some time (5-10min) the process unfreezes and installation is
going on.
In all the case it is a very annoying situation, because the window is totally
friezed and timeout is too long.
