2013-03-29 Thread avb
My specs are: Samsung Series 7 Ultrabook 730U3E, Ubuntu Raring Ringtail
13.04 (development branch), Kernel 3.8.0-15.

I can confirm this bug in raring. Synclient can't find synaptics
properties and there is no touchpad-tab in mouse settings gui.

Two-finger-scrolling, edge-scrolling and multi-touch stuff is not
working. Left and right buttons are working, though.

[Bug 607796] Re: Dragging and holding a selection over an entry in the Launcher should spread out windows belonging to that application

2012-09-20 Thread avb
@johnlea: The main issue we have is with application support, but
this is something app authors need to fix on a per app basis, not
something we can fix in the shell.

I'm not a programmer, but I doubt this, as AWN Dock handles the issue without
any problems. To me this indicates, that this is not a really enormous bug,
that could not be solved in Unity. I'm on Ubuntu 11.10 by the way.
Also, depending on filetype, Unity just greyes out some applications (when you
try to drag a file), which seems like a much more complicated (and restrictive)
 feature to me.

[Bug 601690] Re: chromium could not open profile correctly

2011-07-04 Thread avb
I read an easy fix for this, which worked for me.
In my case, the error was caused because of some chromium-related processes
were stuck in the background.
So:

1. Launch: System / Administration / System monitor
2. Switch to Processes tab
3. Kill every process which has chromium in it's name
4. Start Chromium

Hope it works for you too.

[Bug 261400] Re: trackpoint scrolling is not working

2008-09-12 Thread avb
Ok. Today new version of evdev driver get into the tree.
fix is working without any problems.
Configuration is described here.
http://mvogt.wordpress.com/2008/08/15/xorg-evdev-and-emulatewheel/

So i feel bug should be reassigned to a hal package in order to add a
rule into the package.

[Bug 42926] Re: More granular font selection for the default install

2008-02-04 Thread avb
I'm fully agree with atie. All this fonts which is in recommends to
ubuntu-desktop should be Recommends or Depends for language-support-* packages.
Not to ubuntu. Big part of ubuntu users need only Latin fonts. The rest is
installing their language support package.
According to me i'm wiping all this xfonts* packages except -base and just
installing msttcorefonts which is suite all my needs.
First of all it will decrease base desktop install size. Second it will make
list of fonts smaller. Third it will reduse download and installation time for
users who is installing ubuntu via http//ftp.

After reboot card works perfect. When i'm in the office i'm using ethernet, so
i'm putting wireless interface down with ifdown. When i'm going back home, i'm
doing ifup if wireless and PC can't connect to my network. This script helps me

Sometimes i need to switch wireless off and then on and after run mine

its totally impossible to make card working after suspend or hibernate.

[Bug 95140] Re: windows don't get focused when switching virtual desktops with desktop-effects enabled

2007-06-30 Thread avb
Comfirm this problem.
I solve this problem for me by setting
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/focus_prevention_match to none from any.

Also this helped me with pidgin-hotkeys plugin. When focus preventing
was blocking activation of showing buddy list.

Play with this option, i think by default it must be changed to
something different then 'any'.

Wow. Realy, I changed my 'Candido' gtk theme to 'Human' and bug dissapeared. :(
I dont want to change my theme.
Will try to findout what is the problem in theme.

Justin, what do u think what we need to do with a bug? Is it still a firefox
bug in gtk theme handling, or just a theme bug?
Its strange, but theme was always working for more then a year.

2007-04-09 Thread avb
yes, i add few comments with attached patch. Thanks for the help. Lets
see how it will be.

The better thing for a whole gnome environment is a global variable in
gtkrc which will handle to process of displaying close buttons on tabs.
I was a bit surprised about a fact that GtkNotebook has no builtin
abbility to make close buttons or tab icons itself. And thats why all
applications which use GtkNotebook have different implementations of
tabs behavoir.

Maybe lets fill a feature request in gtk+ bugzilla to add such
functional into a gtknotebook implementation?

[Bug 102507] Re: Dependencies of ubuntu-desktop

2007-04-03 Thread avb
sorry, all this stuff is already in recomends.
i just commented out the setting of apt to install recomended packages.

But what depends on 1) i think this a really good idea to put ttf- as a depends
to a language-pack- package.
If developers dont think so, bug can be closed. If the proposal is intresting i
can write patches to a language-pack-* control configs.

[Bug 99978] gnome-terminal has no abbitily to disable close button on tabs

2007-04-02 Thread avb
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

gnome-terminal has a close button on each tab. This is the cause of a big
height of tabs.
My patch is adding a gconf entry which will allow to disable close button on
tabs.
