[Bug 1741447] Re: Unity / Compiz in a crash loop after login, after updates 4/1
I downgraded libgl1-mesa-dev libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 libglapi-mesa libglapi-mesa:i386 libosmesa6 libosmesa6:i386 mesa-common-dev to version 17.0.7-0ubuntu0.16.04.2 and this solved the problem. [Bug 630264] Re: Mosart MA-957 not recognized
I am still investigating why the click function does not work. I have compared Xorgs logs with the usbhid driver and the hid-mosart driver. This points out that, with generic, the touchscreen is recognized a 'tablet' (absolute axes, etc.) with mosart, the touchscreen is recognized as 'touchpad'. ( See Applying InputClass evdev tablet catchall and Applying InputClass evdev pointer catchall in the logs.) I have looked in the Xorg rule for matching as tablet and it required MatchIsTouchscreen On. Now I would like to now how to bring the hid-mosart driver to fulfill the MatchIsTouchscreen. Or any other ideas how to tell Xorg that this is a touchscreen? With Chatty from ENAC i tried to load hid-mosart driver In lsusb the device is identified as Bus 004 Device 002: ID 062a:7100 Creative Labs but as far as I know it's a Mosart. And to make confusion complete, 062a is identified as USB_VENDOR_ID_TURBOX in hid-ids. I added the 7100 as USB_DEVICE_ID_MOSART_TOUCHPAD in hid-ids. But anyhow, i did - in hid-core.c added in section blacklist { HID_USB_DEVICE(USB_VENDOR_ID_TURBOX, USB_DEVICE_ID_MOSART_TOUCHPAD)}, (note: T91MT was listed under ignorelist) - added to list of devices in hid-mosart.c { HID_USB_DEVICE(USB_VENDOR_ID_TURBOX, USB_DEVICE_ID_MOSART_TOUCHPAD) }, - compile. - copy modules to /lib/modules/etc. - depmod -a - modprobe hid-mosart. [Bug 620609] Re: add touch support for ACER 1820PTZ [MosArt RMTP-MA957]
hi, some news in that story. The touchpad identifies via usb as 062a:7100 Creative Labs, but in fact it's rather MosArt. I have never compiled a kernel myself but tonight I tried. It is strange that drivers/hid/hid-ids.h already lists 062a as USB_VENDOR_ID_TURBOX but I left that as is. I added #define USB_DEVICE_ID_MOSART_TOUCHPAD 0x7100. Additionally I blacklisted this as HID_QUIRK_MULTI_INPUT in drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-quirks.c. The result is now that three input events are created (dmesg) and I can use the touchpad for singletouch. I am now left with some questions, what can we do? I only load modules hid and usbhid. Shouldn't that use the hid-mosart? Is blacklisting in quirks the best way to make this touchpad work? How to emulate a right-click? What does utouch do for that? How to enable multitouch (at least two fingers)? How to 'save' this modification for ubuntu or even the kernel? ** Changed in: utouch Status: Incomplete = New -- add touch support for ACER 1820PTZ [MosArt RMTP-MA957] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620609 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 620609] Re: add touch support for ACER 1820PTZ [MosArt RMTP-MA957]
Hello Chase, thank you for your quick reply. I have already installed utouch before opening this bug. Hello Sebastien, great you care. I have already been pointed to the debugging steps, but there is a problem. The process gvfsd-sftp is called independently and talked via dbus. It's called like gvfsd-sftp --spawner :1.7 /org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/5. I tried to debug the gvfsd-sftp but this doesn't bring any results, as I cannot debug the dbus mechanism. [Bug 538764] [NEW] gvfsd-(sftp/ftp) hang on 100%CPU if they try to read password from gnome-keyring
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs ubuntu 10.04 alpha fully updated.Aditionally tested in testdrive with daily iso, same results. Version gvfs-1.5.5-0ubuntu1 If you try to connect to a sftp / ftp share via a password the gvfsd-(sftp/ftp) process hangs without results at 90-100%. This only happens if you have been connected to the share before and the password is stored in the gnome-keyring. (View with seahorse). Steps to reproduce: 1) Connect to a server (you haven't connected before) and select forget password immediatly. The share will be mounted successfully. Disconnect from the server. 2) Connect to a server and select store password forever. The share won't be mounted and gvfsd-xx will eat your cpu. As long as the password is stored you won't be able to connect. Delete the password (seahorse) and you will be able to do 1). ** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gvfsd-(sftp/ftp) hang on 100%CPU if they try to read password from gnome-keyring https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538764 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 362277] Re: [jaunty sound] Cirrus Logic CS46xx: Lost Sound after update to 9.04 on Thinkpad
I am sorry, this was very confusing. Following this bug report https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=2873, I found the DAC Volume which was muted. It's the last one in alsamixer. So i have now sound on T21 with 9.04. But why was this muted during update process? ** Bug watch added: ALSA Bug Tracker #2873 https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=2873 -- [jaunty sound] Cirrus Logic CS46xx: Lost Sound after update to 9.04 on Thinkpad https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 46707] Re: Hypernate Suspend hang on Thinkpad T21
I can confirm this bug still exists on IBM T21. Though its older hardware ubuntu runs fine, but suspend is impossible. Exactly same issue as mentioned on bug open. I tested with 8.10 and 9.04 beta. [Bug 350945] [NEW] [IBM 26478AG] suspend/resume failure
Public bug reported: Ran the Resume stress test from checkbox 0.7. Tried the first test, went into sleep without problems but on wakeup it only showed black screen. Had to poweroff then. Hey, just noticed that cat /proc/cmdline gives root=UUID=8901a04d-06fa-46d5-be9e-709058366af6 ro splash vga=791 and cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume RESUME=UUID=1e7b7e0c-709c-4dfc-be22-699dee4d6cb2 so they differ. I don't know how to proceed. I did rmmod the wifi driver rt73usb and rt2x00usb and the script ran without problems! Also manually.
