I can reproduce and work around the bug with the sequence described above. I found another way to reproduce it: With synergy running on my box , whenever I move the mouse cursor away clicks are gone. Same here with Henri. Three monitor setup with nvidia/xinerama. Metacity --replace doesn't work and switching users doesn't work also. (clicking works If I login with a different user but when I come back clicks are gone). Logging out or restarting X is the only solution to get my clicks back. Same here, kernel 2.6.27.7 , tried the noapic acpi=off option but with no luck. The system will stop responding to mouse clicks randomly while working.
