No, this is the reason that Synaptic needs to have a rollback feature.

This also affects nvidia Beta (190.32, 190.18) and Old drivers (96.x
170.x)

This is the reason why nVidia drivers need to be open source.

2009-05-20 Thread bazookatooth

Who is actually working this issue in ubuntu? It worked before. Now it doesn't.
I don't want a workaround, I want it fixed.

Using gksudo. Looks like I'm not getting an IP address. Log below.

I don't want to distract from this bug with NetworkManager however.

Status in "network-manager" source package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager

I have a Sierra Wireless AirCard USBConnect 881U 3G/HSDPA/UMTS USB
modem.

This device works out of the box on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 but I
cannot get it to work using Ubuntu 9.04's NetworkManager.

I tried wvdial/wvdialconf but not successful for some reason.

I tried gnome-ppp but gnome-ppp prompts for a password that my ISP
(Telkomsel Flash) do not require (and therefore must be left empty).

I am using UMTSMon to connect and it works flawlessly with this modem,
save for some quirks (Firefox/Pidgin detecting as offline etc.) because
I'm using UMTSMon, not NetworkManager.

Note that I also have Nokia E71 and it works well as 3G modem with
NetworkManager.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: network-manager 0.7.1~rc4.1.cf199a964-0ubuntu2
PackageArchitecture: all
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=(custom, user)
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: network-manager
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686

[Bug 352865] Re: enabling visual affects causes graphics glitches for netbook remix (Jaunty Beta)

2009-04-13 Thread bazookatooth
Confirmed here as well w/ Dell Mini 9 .

Also, I would think that this issue would be much higher priority than
it seems to be currently. This issue is going to be *the* issue in the
netbook OS war if it isn't fixed *soon*.

[Bug 336848] Re: Notifications show up on the wrong screen

2009-03-04 Thread bazookatooth
Confirmed here as well -- was searching for the settings in gconf-editor
and got a message that the key-value pairs could not be changed (this
will be enabled in a later version)...

i really like the new notifications, (a lot) but they are useless to me
as i mainly code in my leftmost monitor... and they always display in
the top right corner of the right-hand monitor.
