so if you are still having issues after testing on the newest version of

2011-02-20 Thread bbordwell
Anton, they are dups of each other. I marked that one as a duplicate of
this since it is a little more active.

Also I didn't mention this before but the reason this has not been fixed
is because poppler is in main, so all of its build-deps must be in main,
libopenjpeg is not in main so that needs to get put in main first. I
filed a main inclusion request some time ago (bug 711061) so hopefully
we can see this fixed in the future.

there are instructions on how to get -dbgsym packges here:

Also I see you asked upstream for a .deb of a newer version, installing
the packages from maverick should work:

[Bug 646377] Re: Brasero crashes on any video project

2011-02-05 Thread bbordwell
@alex: I would like to point you toward the Ubuntu code of conduct:
http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct

Also Pedro is 100% percent correct the error message coming up is not a
crash just the program not functioning correctly, It is important to
figure out exactly what is happening to properly triage a bug. It
appears the original bug reporter was getting an error message on lucid,
and everyone else here is getting a crash on maverick, my original
thinking was that it was the same bug with slightly different behavior
since we were using different versions, but looking back I think the
original reporter was having a completely separate bug from everyone
else. If they fix this upstream we can find out for sure.

[Bug 711061] [NEW] [MIR] libopenjpeg

2011-01-31 Thread bbordwell
Public bug reported:

libopenjpeg should be included in main because compiling poppler with
--enable-openjpeg in debian/rules gives poppler greater functionality
(please see bug 710412). Since this change to /debian/rules adds
libopenjpeg as a build-dep to poppler, which is in main, libopenjpeg
must also be in main.

Main inclusion requirements:

1. It is already in the universe.

2. The package is a new build-dep, and has a large user base (think
evince).

3. Searching http://secunia.com/advisories/search/ for libopenjpeg gave
zero results.

4. Libopenjpeg has no current Ubuntu bugs
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/openjpeg)
in the Debian bug tracking system libopenjpeg has 1 open bug
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=libopenjpeg2), this is an
encoding bug, but the main use for this package will be decoding.
Libopenjpeg does not require any configuration or debconf questions.

5. N/A

6. All build-deps are already included in main.

7. I am afraid that this is a bit over my head, hopefully someone else
could ensure that this package meets the requirments here. Based on its
long inclusion in Debian and Ubuntu I think that it should be alright
here.

8.This is a fairly simple program not needed too much maintenance, as
shown by the bug reports.

9. The package title and description seem to be in order.

My only final comments are that I am sorry this may not be quite the normal
MIR, but I am just a member of bug control, not a dev. Also, any help and
advise along the way would be much appreciated.

[Bug 671948] Re: Indicator-sound closes rhytmbox if opened soon after closing

2010-11-09 Thread bbordwell
Thanks oliver: description updated to take that into account.

not actually closing just sending a message to indicator-sound, which in

[Bug 647466] Re: gcalctool window is not resizable

2010-10-22 Thread bbordwell
Returning to triaged since the requested information has been provided.

Also I marked bug 665328 as a duplicate of this one, another use case
for having the window be re-sizable is to allow long operations to fit
on the screen (see attached screenshot in dup report).
