2017-01-04 Thread ben-Nabiy Derush
In 16.04.1, replacing libnss-ldap with libnss-ldapd worked to get the
machine to boot, and show me my ldap users at login screen, but when I
go to log in, it just cycles back to login immediately. I can still log
in from the tty, but not graphical.

[Bug 1542875] [NEW] upgrade to latest package causes items to not display on screen

2016-02-07 Thread ben-Nabiy Derush
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to the latest version of this package on multiple LTSP
labs, certain python elements would not appear (even though they show in
ps ).

The current version which works is python-xlib (0.14+20091101-1ubuntu2)
and when upgrading to (0.14+20091101-1ubuntu3~trusty) I lose python
elements after a log out and log in.

Description:Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa
Release:17.3

The primary element this occurs to is my menu (which is a python menu -
mintmenu ). I have alerted the linux mint developers as well.

[Bug 1212714] [NEW] audacity causes audio to fail on client until reboot

2013-08-15 Thread ben-Nabiy Derush
Public bug reported:

This bug affects Linux Mint 15 and Ubuntu 13.04.

Upon loading, the client can play audio through vlc, totem, etc. If two
audio programs try to play audio at the same time, it crashes the sound
for the client until the thin client is rebooted ( the issue is not
fixed upon a logout/login).

After much talking on #ltsp and #pulseaudio, seeing that debian suffered
a similar issue, here is the fix.

https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ltsp-upstream/ltsp/ltsp-
trunk/revision/2483/client/initscripts/ltsp-init-common

This needs to be applied to the ubuntu branch as well.

Here is the updated start_sound function with the added line highlighted
with asterisks (*)

start_sound() {
