[Bug 876711] Re: Screen brightness resets to minimized when screen turns off
It's not merely gnome related. I've ran away from gnome3 and both kubuntu and xubuntu 11.10 suffer from this bug on my dell D630. Didn't have this problem with either DE on 11.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876711 Title: Screen brightness resets to minimized when screen turns off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/876711/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 530193] Re: permission denied
It was working fine after I upgraded my server from 9.10 to 10.04 at first, but after doing the updates a few days back I ran into this problem. I still had my old transmission-daemon init.d script so I compared it to the one that is currently being used. I noticed that my old custom one had username=myusername and the new one has name=transmission-daemon and user=debian-transmission. I tried setting name=myusername, but that broke it. The page wouldn't load. When I put the old script instead of the new one I still had the permission problem. As a temporary workaround I changed the owner of the download folder to debian-transmission using sudo chmod -R debian-transmission:debian- transmission /home/shared/downloadfolder/ -- permission denied https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 530193] Re: permission denied
Ran into the same problem here. I have some additional info: the permission problem only occurs when transmission-daemon gets started with the init.d script ie. on boot or (re)starting with /etc/init.d/transmission-daemon (re)start. [Bug 471512] [NEW] Slow cifs ubuntu 9.10
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: smbfs Ubuntu 9.10 mount.cifs version: 1.12-3.4.0 Transfer speed over samba using CIFS/SMBFS has dropped severely since updating to 9.10 (clean install). I should be getting transfer speeds of +- 8 MiB/s, but I'm only getting +- 4 over CIFS. As I still get the expected 8 MiB/s when copying via gnome (Places => Network) and in windows, I'm quite sure it is a CIFS problem. For some odd reason pushing files from the server to a shared folder on my main computer used to go @ the full 10 MiB/s under 9.04. Now with 9.10 installed on the server it won't go over 2 MiB/s. I have tried many rsize= arguments, but every value I've tried only made things worse. [Bug 367022] [NEW] gnome-display-manager doesn't allow manual refresh rate entry
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.10 & 9.04 9.04: gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:2.26.0-0ubuntu3 This is more of a feature request than a bug report. gnome-display-properties should allow to enter the refresh rate manually. [Bug 130213] Re: rhtmbox doesn't play the next song after first song finished
I'm still experiencing this problem on an up to date hardy. It doesn't seem to occur when running with the --debug flag so I can't provide useful logs. It does however display [0x173e710] [volume_changed_cb] rb-player-gst-xfade.c:916: unexpectedly got a volume change for stream file:///path/filename 1.00 (not fading) on every transition. What I have noticed however is that when it happens the time indicator of the main rhythmbox window indicates for example 5:10 of 5:10 whereas it shows 2:34 of 5:10 in the notifications area when hovering over the icon. I can't provide a way to reproduce it. It occurs from time to time without any obvious cause. Sometimes it plays days on end without occurring and when it does occur and replay the song it always goes to the next one when it finishes. So far it has only occurred without the debug flag in shuffle mode with crossfading enabled.
