[Bug 1970957] Re: suspend problem

2022-05-25 Thread bigblackcar
On my X1 Carbon I seem to have solved the issue by:
1. changing the BIOS so the Sleep State is in mode "Linux" as opposed to
"Windows and Linux"
2. using Xorg instead of Wayland. -> When you log in, before inserting the
password, click on the cog on the bottom right and choose the "Ubuntu on Xorg"
option.

YMMV, but since I lost a day I wrote my solution here in case it helps
someone.

[Bug 1028850] Re: chromium browser crashes system on exit

It was probably due to an extension. It doesn't happen anymore since I
removed all extensions.

[Bug 322610] Re: [IGC Mobile 4] Screen brightness not 100% at boot or resume from monitor sleep

2009-05-18 Thread bigblackcar
Hello.
I have the same problem on an Asus v1JP,, with ATI Mobility Radeon X1700.
I cannot move to Ubuntu 9.04 because there are graphic drivers problems.

I cannot use the
options thinkpad_acpi brightness_enable=1
fix, since mine is not a thinkpad, I think.

What should I do?

[Bug 157792] Re: boot hangs at system log daemon phase

2007-10-29 Thread bigblackcar
I've got a question: since I think I might have installed apparmor in Feisty
(I'm not sure, but it's a possibility) maybe it's that that messed up the
upgrade.
Can I simply unistall it and reinstall it in Gutsy or would i break the system?

I really need to get rid of those 5 minutes boot time. It feels too much
like Windows :)

[Bug 157792] Re: boot hangs at system log daemon phase

2007-10-29 Thread bigblackcar
SOLVED!

Mathias, thanks a lot for your help.
Probably because of a poorly-made installation in Feisty, the whole
apparmor-profiles package was not installed in my system, and that caused the
problem. It is not even a bug, it's the result of a bad installation.

[Bug 157792] boot hangs at sytem log daemon phase

2007-10-27 Thread bigblackcar
Public bug reported:

Just upgraded to Gutsy, boot hangs at the loading system log daemon step and
(so far, once) gets to login after a long, long time.
If I boot with the previous kernel, everything works but display is extremely
slow in refreshing and computer is not very usable.
I'm using an ASUS V1J with ATI mobility radeon X1700. When I manage to log in,
all graphics stuff (compiz included) work fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Bug 157792] Re: boot hangs at system log daemon phase

2007-10-27 Thread bigblackcar
It seems this is a version of bug 140274
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/140274)
that seems to be marked as solved, but there's no suggestion on how to solve it
there.
I'm attaching my dmesg.log to show that the system gets stuck on this call
