[Bug 625364] Re: lenovo/thinkpad R500/T6x/T400[s]/T500/W500/W700/X60/X200 suspend fails

2011-04-16 Thread biplabsarkar
I am seeing the bug on Dell-mini-1012 laptop running Ubuntu 10.10. I see
hibernation and suspend using pm-utils is failing to resume after the
system goes to sleep. But if I use "/usr/bin/acpitool -S" it hibernates
properly. But "/usr/bin/acpitool -s" doesn't work.

[Bug 462646] Re: Associate a proxy with a network connection

2010-02-03 Thread biplabsarkar
I would also wish to see this feature. I use my laptop in multiple
networks and every now an than I have to manually change my location in
gnome to select the proxy property. It would be great to have this
automatically done as soon as the connection comes up. One more thing
could be to have preferences given when say I have both wireless and
wired connections active in a computer. Automatic proxy selection might
go wrong in such scenario.

[Bug 175301] update-initramfs doesn't pass in the ROOT info to mkinitramfs

2007-12-10 Thread biplabsarkar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

When I try to create an initramfs image for a kernel that has custom root
directory, the "update-initramfs" script fails to find out any modules. Upon
looking at the script I see that it doesn't pass in the alternate ROOT
information to the "mkinitramfs" script.
=
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/target] ls */*
boot/config-2.6.18
boot/System.map-2.6.18
boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18

lib/modules:
2.6.18

update-initramfs -c -b /root/target/boot -k 2.6.18 -v

Failes to find "/lib/modules/..."
