[Bug 557918] Re: pcbnew crash in lucid

2010-05-03 Thread brawd
As a variation of event what happens is I get booted out when I try to
zoom in at the pcbnew screen.

Nvidia drivers (of course) seems to be involved (again).

Dudley.

Yo,

I had to give up on it in the end.

I downloaded the ISO file, wrote the CD. Then wiped my hard drive using
KILLDISK from Hiren's boot disk and did a fresh install.
Surprisingly this did me a lot of good. The boot is much faster now and my
puter is stable again, much like it was using the much beloved 8.04.
The remaining two problems are no wireless, not a disaster because the
modem/router is next to my computer, and a funny bug when logging out from a
Desktop user which gives a Black Screen of Death.

No doubt it will all work itself out in time.

There is no way I'm going back to windows.

regards,

brawd.

Status in “flashplugin-nonfree” package in Ubuntu: New

 Bug description:
 Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

The only things I can add are this became apparent after the upgrade from
8.04 to 10.04. I have a feeling it might have been lurking in the background
shortly before that as some webpages didn't work as I thought they might.

The other bit is synaptic doesn't seem to be of any help. Only a few of the
options are available such as remove, completely remove. Other choices are
not in the active state. Fixing broken packages doesn't seem to do anything.
