I have found a dkms-driver for the Atheros chipset on the recovery image which I created from the pre-installed Ubuntu 10.04. Thus, I tried to install it under Ubuntu 10.10 (64 Bit). I have also tried solution 1 and the same problem occured again. Then I looked for the permission of the other files with extension .sty in the latex folder. I have changed the permission of xargs.sty with sudo chmod 644 to read/write access for the owner and just read access for the group and others.
