[Bug 1030601] [NEW] Nautilus Send-to should offer address autocompletion with Thunderbird's address book

2012-07-29 Thread cameleon
Public bug reported:

When I want to send by email a photo through Shotwell, or any file in
Nautilus, Nautilus Send-to open and ask to enter the recipient email's
address. It is quite boring that you cannot start to enter something
here and then it should automatically auto-complete...

You can also simply ignore this field, but I think that something should
be done here to improve the user experience...

Created attachment 585161
exemple of odt document which doesn't work in Thunderbird 8

exemple of an image of a car in a odt document which doesn't work in
Thunderbird 8.
I also try in safe mode, the result is the same: the "past" command in the
"Edit" menu is disabled (gray). I am sure I compose mail in html. I also check
that the past command works in other application (like Gimp).

Could you do the test to with this particular file? Any other person can
give its feedback?

[Bug 864038] [NEW] Ubuntu doesn't prevent overheating (and crash)

2011-10-01 Thread cameleon
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Using Ubuntu 11.10.

Since some months, I see that my Dell 1525 N Laptop crash every-time I try to
launch an heavy task (for instance: DejaBackup).
I have installed sensord in order to log temperature and the syslog shows the
following after a crash:

Oct 1 14:19:03 Inspiron-1525 kernel: [ 3680.767432] Disabling lock debugging
due to kernel taint
Oct 1 14:19:03 Inspiron-1525 kernel: [ 3680.768414] CPU0: Core

Oct 1 14:19:20 Inspiron-1525 NetworkManager[551]: (wlan0): supplicant

Oct 1 14:20:04 Inspiron-1525 AptDaemon: INFO: Quitting due to inactivity
Oct 1 14:20:04 Inspiron-1525 AptDaemon: INFO: Shutdown was requested
Oct 1 14:20:20 Inspiron-1525 kernel: [ 3757.962760] Critical temperature
reached (100 C), shutting down.

I have opened my laptop in order to clean it but I don't find dust in it, so I
don't think this is the problem.

What I particularly do not understand, this is why does Ubuntu try to
throttled my CPU (which is a good idea), but immediately cancel it due
to "kernel taint"???

Anyone has an answer?

[Bug 563815] Re: Critical temperature reached (100 C), shutting down. throttling too little, too late.

2011-08-09 Thread cameleon
I got the same problem with a fresh install of Natty on a Dell 1525N
notebook, for instance when I watch a flash video within Firefox.

I can read in the syslog:
"Aug 8 22:36:21 Inspiron-1525 kernel: [12219.014818] Critical temperature
reached (99 C), shutting down."

I think that the user should at least be informed of the problem by a
message or notification just before the shutt down, because he has no
way to guess the cause of the crash.

[Bug 780117] Re: Brasero finishes without error but unusable media [no simulation mode] (Ubuntu 11.04)

2011-07-22 Thread cameleon
Don't undersand how the importance of this bug could be "low"... This is
critical for me, as I lose time and money each time I forget that
Brasero is broken and that I need to use a ugly workaround in order to
burn a CD or DVD :-(

[Bug 780117] Re: Brasero finishes without error but unusable media [no simulation mode] (Ubuntu 11.04)

2011-05-25 Thread cameleon
I wonder if this is not similar to my bug report: "Brasero create non-
readable data disc" which I have just submitted at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/788300

I attach two logs into a zip file:
- one of the direct buring process which create an unreadable DVD
- one of the burning process of an image which create a correct DVD

I believe that there is now enought data to submit this bug upstream
ASAP.

[Bug 788300] Re: Brasero create non-readable data disc

2011-05-25 Thread cameleon
Reading more carefully bug report I have seen this one
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/780117 which explains
that:
"
This problem only exists when burning On-The-Fly. Burning ISO Images or
automatic creation of ISO Images before burning works without problems.
"
This is the point! I try to first create an image and then burn it to the DVD
and it works as expected. The there is really a software issue with direct
burning of DVD.

[Bug 788300] [NEW] Brasero create non-readable data disc

2011-05-25 Thread cameleon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

I launch Brasero in order to create a data disc with a DVD+RW on my Dell 1525 N
laptop (which is fully linux compatible).
The burn process work correctly and Brasero advise me at the end that
everything is OK, and the disc is ejected.
Then if I try to insert it again in my driver, the DVD reader turn for some
time but no windows open in order to allow me to select any action( eg: open in
Nautilus). Also the DVD is not mounted and I do not see its on the desktop or
in Nautilus.

I got the following message when running dmesg | tail

[Bug 667955] [NEW] Localisation issue with string included in ppd file

2010-10-28 Thread cameleon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

When I print from Firefox, the windows isn't completely translate into french.
Particularly, 2 tabs are completely not translated:
"Qualité de l'image"
"Couleur"
(look at the attach images file for a picture of the problems).

I have looked in /etc/cups/ppd/ and find Photosmart-C4380-series.ppd which is
the name of my printer (I also attach the file to the bug report). The
untranslated string are in this file, as you can see.
 *OpenUI *ColorModel/Output Mode: PickOne
 *OpenUI *OutputMode/Print Quality: PickOne
 ...

Hope someone can help to solve this problem.

[Bug 481541] Re: Firefox steals the focus from other apps when clicking on a link

2010-10-03 Thread cameleon
I think this is clear: there is only one person affected by this
problem, but already 6 for the opposite bug. So please go back to the
normal behavior, which is that when the user wants to browse a link, the
link open and is viewable without any other actions.

[Bug 417428] Re: No HDMI Audio with Intel HDAudio

2010-07-03 Thread cameleon
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with a Dell 1525N. I can only watch the movie
but I cannot heard any sound from the TV with the HDMI link.
I use Ubuntu Lucid and I have try to update Alsa to 1.0.23 (instead of 1.0.22).

Same problem for me on a Dell Inspiron 1525N with Lucid. I have updated

[Bug 564331] Re: 'Opening file' >> 'Save file' dialog always displays hidden directories

2010-06-27 Thread cameleon
The problem is that if a file/folder is hidden in Nautilus, it is not
hidden in Open/save dialog as long as you don't click "Ctrl+h" into it.
This is actually quite confusing, the status could be different in
different applications... This does not only affect Firefox.

[Bug 521323] Re: "Text" scan is in black-and-white, not greyscale

2010-03-23 Thread cameleon
I have try to scan a grayscale document in "Text" mode (black and white), the
result looks horrible (look at the attachment). Only a "Photo" scan is great
for this kind of document (look at next comment).
So my conclusion is that a third option is needed to scan grayscale documents.

photo in greyscale, or photo in color but low resolution,...

I think a new bug should be filled for last Fabian comment: the trash is not

[Bug 490080] Re: After restoring a deleted file, Nautilus hang

2009-11-30 Thread cameleon
Today (after closing and restarting Ubuntu) I have seen that my file has
finally been restored.
So I delete it another time,
Go to the trash,
Restore it
Go back to the original file location which is /home/vincent/Documents/Vincent
Then I cannot see it and the throbber is always turning :-(

So yes, it seems reproducible on my installation (which I update 2 days
ago with a complete new installation from CD).
