[Bug 1973117] Re: Screen sharing switch does not work in Budgie 22.04
Tested from Proposed PPA and screen sharing changes seem to be working fine. Version tested: budgie-control-center/jammy-proposed,now 1.0.1-2ubuntu2 amd64 --- [Test Plan] * Without the package update the follow issue occurs: 1. Open budgie-control-center - choose the Sharing side tab 2. Slide the switch toggle on the headerbar to enable the other sharing options below 3. click on the Screensharing -> arrow 4. This will open a dialog 5. Attempt to click the switch toggle on the new dialog to enable sharing. This will be disabled which means sharing is disabled 6. Close budgie-control-center and restart budgie-control-center again 7. Note that screensharing will have a "no" next to the arrow. [Test Result]: screen sharing toggle is disabled and does not turn on. 8. Confirm this by trying to remmina (or using your favourite VNC client) to the desktop VNC Name / IP Address [Test Result]: Remmina cannot connect to the test machine's screen sharing. * Enable the proposed repo and then install the updates - the following packages needs to be installed sudo apt install budgie-control-center budgie-control-center-data * Test screensharing: 1. Open budgie-control-center - choose the Sharing side tab 2. Slide the switch toggle on the headerbar to enable the other sharing options below 3. click on the Screensharing -> arrow 4. This will open a dialog 5. Click the switch toggle on the new dialog to enable sharing. 6. Close budgie-control-center and restart budgie-control-center again 7. Note "Yes" will be shown next the the screensharing -> arrow. [Test Result]: Screen sharing toggle is enabled and turns on when clicked. 8. Confirm sharing is enabled by trying to remmina (or using your favourite VNC client) to the desktop VNC Name / IP Address 9. Confirm the other options shown in the dialog work as expected i.e. disconnect first from remmina, change the option and connect. [Test Result]: Remmina from another machine connects to screen sharing via VNC successfully. Remmina does not connect by RDP. * Regression testing The testing to ensure no regressions occur in this area. 1. Connect to the screensharing host with the other sharing options [Test Result]: Allow connections to control the screen: Works. When toggled on, can control sharing machine via mouse and keyboard on connecting machine. Control not available when toggled off. New connections must ask for access: Works. When toggled on, request pops up on sharing machine. Sharing works on accepting. Require a password: Works. When toggled on, password input on sharing machine needs entered on connecting machine to start sharing. Show password: Works. Toggles display of password input. Networks: Not available. There was a networks selection option in earlier Ubuntu versions that does not show here. File Sharing: Works. Public folder on sharing machine accessible from connecting machine when switch is toggled on. Require password: Works. Media Sharing: Toggle works. Could not test actual sharing from other media devices. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973117 Title: Screen sharing switch does not work in Budgie 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/budgie-control-center/+bug/1973117/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1973117] [NEW] Screen sharing switch does not work in Budgie 22.04
Public bug reported: The screen sharing switch does not work in Budgie control center and hence no screen sharing is possible. The toggle to switch on screen sharing is disabled. Re: [Bug 1893601] Re: 4k not working
Hi Daniel, Thank you for your quick response. The details are here. 1. Selecting 'Ubuntu on Wayland' from the login screen. Do you now get 4K modes offered in Settings? - I don't see any Wayland option. The max resolution at Display Settings is 1080p. 2. Run: grep . /sys/class/drm/*/modes > kernel-modes.txt - Attached the file. [Bug 1872796] Re: gnome-shell animations are noticeably stuttery when the Ubuntu extensions are enabled
Hi, I don't know if this is going to help, but I was experience a similar problem in Popos 20.04. In my case, the misbehaving app turned out to be Mega from mega.nz which I use for cloud sync. Their ubuntu 20.04 deb package causes noticeable stuttering. After disabling the app the desktop becomes smooth again. After enabling it again the computer becomes fast and smooth. This problem did not exist in 19.10 using mega's deb for 19.10. The stuttering happens across the board, in every activity randomly. Thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872796 Title: gnome-shell animations are noticeably stuttery when the Ubuntu extensions are enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1872796/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 596476] Re: kdiff3 empty printout to PDF
In case anyone is interested, I was able to workaround this problem. I had to build kdiff3 from source after making a small change. YMMV, since I have not done extensive testing, nor have I done any checks to see what sort of side-effects my code change may have. Here's what I did: 1. Download kdiff3 source tarball. (kdiff3-0.9.97.tar.gz) 2. tar xvzf kdiff3-0.9.97.tar.gz 3. cd kdiff3-0.9.97/src-QT4 4. Open file kdiff3.cpp 5. Change line number 869 from: #ifdef KREPLACEMENTS_H to: #ifndef KREPLACEMENTS_H 6. Follow the directions in the README file under the kdiff3-0.9.97 directory (the section under Requirements Installation) to build kdiff3. 7. The newly built kdiff3 will print to pdf as one would expect. Let me know if you are able to get this to work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/596476 Title: kdiff3 empty printout to PDF To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdiff3/+bug/596476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 970139] Re: apt_check.py crashed with SIGSEGV in pkgPolicy::GetCandidateVer()
I have experienced this bug and it has resulted in the following consequences on my Kubuntu 12.04 amd64 system: 1. Inability to update or upgrade with apt-get update apt-get upgrade See example below for error message. 2. Error when trying to install or reinstall any existing package. For instance sudo apt-get install --reinstall update-notifier-common gives --- Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... The system runs but is flaky. 4. I have a new system disk that is less than three months old and is unlikely to be the cause of the above problems. 5.
