[Bug 121685] Re: firefox crashed
Good point, I hadn't checked that before. In fact, it appears (see attachment). ** Attachment added: messages.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8561274/messages.txt -- firefox crashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 121685] Re: firefox crashed
I reproduced this behavior again in safe mode. gdb suddenly prints ptrace: No such process. I attach the new log, but I'm afraid this one doesn't help either. Is there a mechanism in Ubuntu which automatically kills applications which use too much memory/CPU over an extended period? The behavior now is that at some point the system doesn't respond any more because firefox uses up all resources. After a while firefox suddenly terminates. I'm really sorry I'm never able to get a backtrace, but I guess the reason is it just gets killed (?). So, the issue still exists and is reproducible on my system, but it is not of big importance because I only encounter it with this specific livestream flash page. Thanks a lot ** Attachment added: gdb-firefox.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8482368/gdb-firefox.log -- firefox crashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 121685] Re: firefox crashed
Sorry, it took me a while to respond. I followed the instructions and uploaded the output, but it seems to me that it was impossible to generate a backtrace. Also I noted that last time it was terminated by a signal 11 and this time by a signal 9 (however it was not me issuing that). So far, it has not crashed in safe mode, but as I said it takes a while and I might not have waited long enough. I'll try again and post the result if that should crash as well. Thanks in advance! ** Attachment added: gdb-firefox.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8296610/gdb-firefox.log -- firefox crashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 121685] Re: firefox crashed
Thanks for looking into it! The following extensions are installed: Flashblock 1.5.3.1 , NoScript 1.1.4.9 The crash is reproducible. However, it occurs at different times. When navigating to the website http://www.dradio.de/aodflash/player.php?station=1stream=1 everything works fine until Firefox suddenly crashes after about 15..30 minutes. I have attached the crash report. Unfortunately it didn't work to generate a backtrace from it. It says CoreDump: No such file or directory, so apparently if was a segfault without a coredump. [Bug 113747] Re: [apport] bzip2 crashed with signal 25 in __kernel_vsyscall()
I just realized that probably the maximum file size on that particular file system where I wanted to create the bzip2 file was exceeded. So it's not a serious bug, but there should be an instructive error message instead of a plain crash. -- [apport] bzip2 crashed with signal 25 in __kernel_vsyscall() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113747 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
