Hi there, I have exactly the same problem as Fabrizio Testa, I use usb Elitegroup wireless card and my Hardy freezes, I tried to use Ethernet and not my usb wireless card and everything is just fine... have no idea how to repair this bug.. thx for your help... I have a presentation to make on monday and all my info is on hardy... 2 weeks went good without problems, today after installng updates...god... and I can boot it...I have on the screen to enter the username , than password...and then it freeses...just a brown screen I have erors...I tryed to boot from CD, even in safe mode- I have a darkscreen and lots of errors like : SQUASHFS error: unable to read age, block 669534a size 1bbd5 Buffer error I/O: on divise sr0, logical block ox53610 so I cannot reistall ubuntu from the begining or even in safe mode, have no idea why? well I found by myself the temporally solution: first before to log in and the password - you will see Sessions - go there and choose fail_safe Gnome - than do your username + password You will get at least in ubuntu menu and everything u need... I have a presentation on Monday so I thought - dam it..everything is lost...now I have a backup on my external HHD at least...
