[Bug 1547715] Re: Touchpad not being detected by linux
LOL Ok, i can use the touchpad now, i didn't do anything. It just started working like that. I swept my hand trough the notebook to clean some food that i dropped in one corner and i saw the cursor moving. I think that with one of the restarts it finally detected it. Hope it'll last long. I wonder what was the cause of the malfunction in the first place. Anyway, if it stops working again i will let you know. I'm happy but confused, maybe it detected that i was making a live cd to change to fedora and started working so i would stay with kubuntu. I will be staying with kubuntu, fedora sucks with the NVIDIA propietary drivers, they never work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1547715 Title: Touchpad not being detected by linux To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1547715/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1547715] Re: Touchpad not being detected by linux
I can upgrade to Xenial, i will keep trying until i get it to function. I will go through all the releases i can, i think eventually it will fix, considering that i can use the touchpad even in this release's live CD. If a come to an answer myself i will update this bug. Well, ipod support is lacking, I know this but I realized I use the rating a lot for automatic playlisting on my iPod. I've looked at that bug and still don't understand why pasting causes a crash. OOo shouldn't die. Failure to paste would be one thing. Crashing OOo is quite another. Thanks for the pointer; I appreciate the help. Again, sorry for my abrasive tone earlier. I was/am most frustrated that a month went by with no response in this bug. I'm at the point of wiping Ubuntu and reinstalling windows for the user who brought this bug to my attention. This is a show-stopper for her. Bug #1 must not be very important. I really love Ubuntu, which is why this is incredibly painful. I wiped windows for this user more than six months ago and now she's going back. [Bug 32698] Re: Clipboard doesn't work OOo2/GNOME 2
Can confirm on openoffice.org 2.0.4-0ubuntu2 and openoffice.org-gnome 2.0.4-0ubuntu2 on an edgy (6.10) 2.6.17-10-386 system. This system was originally a dapper system that has been upgraded to edgy. Crash happens most predictably with a new, unsaved document. Steps to reproduce: 1) Start oowriter 2) Write some text, make a bulleted list 3) Star firefox, start an email in gmail or similar 4) Highlight text in oowriter (can also C-c to copy--same behavior observed) 5) Middle-click (or C-v to paste--same behavior observed) in firefox. 6) Observe that oowriter goes into document recovery. Tried to run 'strace oowriter' from a terminal, but the process detaches once the program fully loads. I'd love to give more useful debugging data, but am not sure how to go about it. What ubuntu version are you running? Find this by issuing 'dpkg -l mozilla-browser|grep ^ii' (without the quotes) at a command prompt.
