[Bug 1547715] Re: Touchpad not being detected by linux

2016-02-22 Thread Cristobal
LOL
Ok, i can use the touchpad now, i didn't do anything. It just started working
like that.
I swept my hand trough the notebook to clean some food that i dropped in one
corner and i saw the cursor moving.
I think that with one of the restarts it finally detected it.
Hope it'll last long.
I wonder what was the cause of the malfunction in the first place.

Anyway, if it stops working again i will let you know. I'm happy but
confused, maybe it detected that i was making a live cd to change to
fedora and started working so i would stay with kubuntu.

I will be staying with kubuntu, fedora sucks with the NVIDIA propietary
drivers, they never work.

[Bug 1547715] Re: Touchpad not being detected by linux

2016-02-22 Thread Cristobal
I can upgrade to Xenial, i will keep trying until i get it to function. I will
go through all the releases i can, i think eventually it will fix, considering
that i can use the touchpad even in this release's live CD.
If a come to an answer myself i will update this bug.
Thanks for all your help this far.

Sorry, it might be because english is not my native language or because i'm
still new to this, but i dont understand what you asked.
What is a backport? What i can say is that i am using a release prior to
Xenial, Kubuntu 15.10 Wily something.

[Bug 132484] Re: dragging from ipod to local library does not copy the rating

2010-09-21 Thread Cristobal S
Well, ipod support is lacking, I know this but I realized I use the rating a
lot for automatic playlisting on my iPod.
With this and the fact that you cannot add songs to a playlist on your iPod
(nor automatic playlists), makes me wonder why iPod related bugs are "low"
priority or at most, "medium", since i guess most ubuntu users are looking for
a better desktop experience, so poor music management/iPod support is becaming
a dealbreaker.

 sudo mkdir -p /opt/medusa4_pers_v3_0/lib

 sudo cp /tmp/usr/lib/libXft.so.2* /opt/medusa4_pers_v3_0/lib

[Bug 32698] Re: Clipboard doesn't work OOo2/GNOME 2.14

2007-01-24 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
I've looked at that bug and still don't understand why pasting causes a
crash. OOo shouldn't die. Failure to paste would be one thing. Crashing
OOo is quite another.

Thanks for the pointer; I appreciate the help.

Again, sorry for my abrasive tone earlier. I was/am most frustrated that
a month went by with no response in this bug. It would have been awesome
to see a pointer upstream sooner.

Thanks again,
CMP

[Bug 32698] Re: Clipboard doesn't work OOo2/GNOME 2.14

2007-01-18 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
I'm at the point of wiping Ubuntu and reinstalling windows for the user
who brought this bug to my attention. This is a show-stopper for her.

Bug #1 must not be very important.

I really love Ubuntu, which is why this is incredibly painful. I wiped
windows for this user more than six months ago and now she's going back.

Sorry if I'm a bit bitter, but a month with no action is beyond
unacceptable.

[Bug 32698] Re: Clipboard doesn't work OOo2/GNOME 2

2006-12-24 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
Can confirm on openoffice.org 2.0.4-0ubuntu2 and openoffice.org-gnome
2.0.4-0ubuntu2 on an edgy (6.10) 2.6.17-10-386 system. This system was
originally a dapper system that has been upgraded to edgy.

Crash happens most predictably with a new, unsaved document.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Start oowriter
2) Write some text, make a bulleted list
3) Star firefox, start an email in gmail or similar
4) Highlight text in oowriter (can also C-c to copy--same behavior observed)
5) Middle-click (or C-v to paste--same behavior observed) in firefox.
6) Observe that oowriter goes into document recovery.

Tried to run 'strace oowriter' from a terminal, but the process detaches
once the program fully loads. I'd love to give more useful debugging
data, but am not sure how to go about it.

Thanks,
CMP

What ubuntu version are you running? Find this by issuing 'dpkg -l

Could you please attach the output of the following:

 dpkg --list *gstreamer*|grep ^ii

[Bug 57019] Re: Firefox Freezes After click on hyperlink after video

2006-08-22 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 35942 ***

I can't duplicate that here. When I try to install from the firefox
plugin finder, the install fails. Can you install flashplugin-nonfree
and see if you still get this crash?

** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: firefox => flashplugin-nonfree

(1) You're using flashplugin-nonfree?
(2) You're using GNOME?
(3) What type of sound card do you have? (check with 'lspci | grep audio'
without the quotes)
(4) What is the output of 'mozilla-firefox -V' without the quotes?

[Bug 51251] nagios install with nagios-text gives config errors

2006-06-28 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nagios-text

Steps to reproduce:

on a system with apache2 up and running,

$ sudo aptitude install nagios-common nagios-text

Watch the following two errors scroll by:

Error: Service check command 'check_ping' specified in service 'PING' for host
'gw' not defined anywhere!
Checked 1 services.
Checking hosts...
Error: Host check command 'check-host-alive' specified for host 'gw' is not
defined anywhere!
Checked 1 hosts.

figuring that this might be because I need nagios-plugins-extra, I
installed that and got this:

(Reading database ... 132935 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking nagios-plugins-extra (from
.../nagios-plugins-extra_1.3.1.0-12ubuntu3_i386.deb) ...

[Bug 31057] Re: /etc/resolv.conf is empty after a system reboot.

2006-06-22 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
saw this one too. Installed mysql-server for Joomla! and shortly
thereafter lost /etc/resolv.conf

purging resolvconf and cycling eth0 fixed.

[Bug 4035] Still present in Dapper

2006-06-15 Thread Cristobal M. Palmer
I'll re-confirm this bug in the current dapper version. This presents a
serious security risk. Please make a patch available through the
official repo.
