[Bug 574663] Re: Evince fails to properly print pdf files

2010-10-26 Thread ctsdownloads
Just to print a PDF file, I have to print to file, then convert this to
JPG in GIMP. Horrible work-a-round, but it works I guess. Hopefully this
is fixed soon as most people are not going to mess with this I doubt.

Found this bug to be an issue in both Evince and even in the proprietary
app, Adobe Acrobat reader for Linux. So it's NOT just Evince affected,
it's something about the handling of the PDF itself.

So is this actually fixed or are we once again using work-a-rounds and

[Bug 292990] Re: PowerDVD Linux does not read correctly a dvd under ubuntu 8.10

2009-01-14 Thread ctsdownloads
I am running Death Race in my new DVD Burner without issue using the
PowerDVD for Linux 4.52. I mention this as it crashes my older TV based
DVD player in a big way. Totally freezes it. Based on what you are
saying, I would ask about the age of your DVD hardware? Sounds unlikely,
sure. But I am telling you, if I can play Planet of the Apes and Death
Race, both REALLY intensive DVDs with crash-likely histories on other
DVD hardware, then it very likely is the ability of your DVD player.

How fast is the computer system? How much RAM, video card resources
available, using NVIDIA/ATI/Intel video card, is the DVD reader fairly
new? This sounds like hardware if other DVDs are working. And I say this
wanting to help if I can.

Typo - meant:

intensive DVDs with crash-likely histories on this DVD software, then it
very likely is the ability of your available hardware resources. DVD
Rom, etc.

Apparently my Gmail account was hacked into recently, so I ended up send off

everyone know that I am aware of it and am working to lock the account down.
Clearly, Gmail is not very secure...

a work-a-round.

I concur with Aleksey1977, I am using an Averatec 3200, Broadcom
chipset, same exact problem, can login via command line, but startx is a
no go. 32 Bit 8.04 beta is used here. So it is safe to say confirmed by
another Averatec owner.

[Bug 67075] Edgy RC 1 - Boots to a black screen

2006-10-20 Thread ctsdownloads
Public bug reported:

Well, much like Edgy Beta, Edgy RC 1 produces a black screen when
booting off of the CD.

I am able to get to the loading/splash screen, but after that - nothing.

I am running an ASUS board, AMD64 processor and a NVIDIA 6600GT AGP
card. I also have two monitors attached on the same single video card,
was using twin view in Dapper without any issues. But with Edgy,
nothing

Forgot to mention: The screen boots black in all graphic modes,
including safe mode.
