approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.

212 frames in 5.0 seconds = 42.231 FPS
176 frames in 5.0 seconds = 35.022 FPS
166 frames in 5.0 seconds = 33.048 FPS
159 frames in 5.0 seconds = 31.775 FPS
222 frames in 5.0 seconds = 44.363 FPS

2021-08-19 Thread Cyrus Lien
I encountered exactly same issue as this bug on bionic so I would like to
leverage iris fix (iris-avoid-abort-if-enomem.diff) but bionic mesa prefer i965
by default over iris.
Do I need to file a new one on mesa/i965 driver?

[Bug 1918855] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT when under memory pressure

2021-08-18 Thread Cyrus Lien
@Timo,

In bionic mesa (20.0.8-0ubuntu1~18.04.1) it prefer i965 by default over iris.
rules: confflags_GALLIUM += -Dprefer-iris=false

Is it available to enable iris by default in bionic?

[Bug 1883839] Re: [MIR] oem-somerville-beric-icl-meta

2020-07-27 Thread Cyrus Lien
Test procedure:

1. install a focal, upgrade the whole os, on the target machine.
2. turned on proposed.
3. sudo ubuntu-deriver install

It does install the bootstrap meta (oem-somerville-beric-icl-meta
20.04~ubuntu1) automatically.
Given it install new source list, then get the index from new source, and then
install oem-somerville-meta and oem-somerville-beric-icl-meta (20.04ubuntu1)
automatically and successfully.

Given above test result, I verified passed.

The issue only reproduced on first thunderbolt port which next to escape key.
The external monitor doesn't lit up even though xrandr shows it is connected.
Switching output modes by hotkey or GUI doesn't help.

xrandr output:

Public bug reported:

[Impact]
Wacom touchscreen doesn't works well when in-driver gesture was enabled (lp:

[Bug 1773268] [NEW] locked out of system when upgrading to bionic from xenial

2018-05-24 Thread Cyrus Harmon
Public bug reported:

I was attempting to upgrade to bionic from xenial using do-release-
upgrade but forgot to turn off screen locking. After an hour of
inactivity, I ended up at the login screen but the keyboard won't allow
me to enter keys in the login window and clicking the field results in a
bizarre repeated "Failed to authenticate" message. See attached
screenshot.

[Bug 1768906] Re: Xorg crash

2018-05-06 Thread Cyrus Harmon
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1543192 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1543192

It's not clear that there's an actual crash here, but rather maybe that
gdm3 can't acquire modesetting permission and can't find a display to
work with. Not sure that's going to trigger an actual crash. Still a bug
though!

[Bug 1768906] Re: Xorg crash

2018-05-05 Thread Cyrus Harmon
I am able to reproduce this following a reinstall of 18.04 from the ISO
image, but only on the same box. No problems on two other computers.
Will try reverting to 17.10 to see if that fixes the problem.

As for the component, can I test with alternative session managers, or
is gdm3 the only game in town? thanks!

[Bug 1769310] [NEW] "bootloader install failed" dialog box broken

2018-05-05 Thread Cyrus Harmon
Public bug reported:

On attempting to update to 18.04, and running into problems with my
Ubuntu video card, I decided to try to reinstall the OS, booting from a
USB formatted with the 18.04 ISO image. So far so good, until I got to
the the "bootloader install failed" dialog box. Unfortunately, no matter
which of the options I select, I cannot make the "OK" button take
effect, and I'm stuck on that dialog box.

[Bug 1768906] Re: Xorg crash

2018-05-04 Thread Cyrus Harmon
This happens with all combination of (bionic-ish) kernels and drivers
I've tried so far, including:

Drivers: NVIDIA proprietary installer 396.24, nvidia-driver-396
(396.24-0ubuntu0~gpu18.04.1), nvidia-390 (390.48-0ubuntu3+gpu18.04.2)

kernels: 4.15.0-20-lowlatency, a locally built 4.16.3

cards: GTX 770 and GTX 1070ti

I've tried erasing /etc/X11/xorg.conf, running things with and without
nomodeset, etc... all to no avail. Any suggestions for tracking this
down further? thanks!

I'm not exactly clear what you mean by purging and settings removal.
I've run uninstall with the proprietary driver (and rebooted) I've used
nvidia-driver-396 and apt-cache remove --purge'd that. I've tried to
video cards now. In short, I've tried everything I can think of, but
still end up with the same problem.

[Bug 1768906] [NEW] Xorg crash

Public bug reported:

When attempting to log in to a newly updated bionic beaver via the
display manager (I think this is the right term), I immediately see a

A quick workaround is rmmod btusb before suspend and insert btusb after resume.
To do this, you can put a executable script of any name in
/lib/systemd/system-sleep/.

Example:
#!/bin/sh

if [ "$1" = "pre" ]; then
systemctl stop bluetooth && rmmod btusb
elif [ "$1" = "post" ]; then
modprobe btusb && systemctl start bluetooth
fi
