[Bug 122645] Re: manual partitioning hangs indefinitely

2007-10-05 Thread dale gallagher
Installed 7.10 beta from the downloadable ISO on a IBM ThinkPad T43p
(system info attached).

initially ubiquity would not run, so I ran it in a terminal, which
indicated an IO error when trying to access a library, but running it
under sudo: sudo ubiquity... got it going.

When using manual installer to specify a mount-point for a FAT32
partition, the entire OS and UI froze. Only recourse was to reboot.

Finally, about a 3rd of the way through my 3rd attempt (leaving out the
FAT32 partition mounting) the installer complained about the CD/disk/CPU
temp being possible culprits for the aborted installation attempt.

[Bug 124368] Re: Both panels only show on a single (1st) workspace

2007-07-06 Thread dale gallagher
I had "Desktop effects" enabled and when disabled, the panels re-appear
on the other workspaces... I'm just tinkering with Ubuntu at the moment,
so not overly familiar with what is being used... but it does appear
that the 3D effects in Ubuntu 7.04 are compiz driven.

[Bug 47825] Re: Many instances of nm-applet loaded in Xfce panel

2006-10-04 Thread dale gallagher
Unfortunately not.

nm-applet is the only applet with the multiple instance issue under Xfce
(as far as I'm aware). All other GNOME specific applets (which I've used
under Xfce) run perfectly.
