Ah, good to know.

Well, it's currently not working for me, but I wouldn't lay the blame
on a bug at this point. I probably just have something misconfigured
and, while double-checking things, noticed the dead link.

[Bug 234318] [NEW] mythweb-htaccess missing

2008-05-23 Thread dcherryholmes
Public bug reported:

I am attempting to set up mythweb on Mythbuntu 8.04. The file
/var/www/mythweb/.htaccess is a dead link, pointing to /etc/mythtv
/mythweb-htaccess, which is a non-existent file. Can anyone tell me how
to obtain a copy of this file?

I think this bug is back. I get "audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 !

System->Pref.->Sound

Thinkpad R52 2.6.24-14-generic #1 SMP (up to date hardy beta). I lost
sound after today's update, which included this new kernel.

So far I've got this, which is progress:

fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300
OpenGL version string: 2.1.7281 Release

But when I go to enable desktop effects it says the Compiz Extension
is not available.

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg doesn't give me the option of selecting
a driver anymore. I had noticed this previously, and assumed it was
part of the new X. Are you saying I should be getting a step to
select a driver?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. I attached my xorg.conf to this
email, so you can see that there is very little in it.

I added that, and now I've got proper resolution. But fglrxinfo still
says it's using the mesa driver, and core dumps after giving its
output. Compiz-real crashes, and the 3D effects are grindingly slow
(as I guess you would expect w/ the mesa driver). Any thoughts?

[Bug 128803] Re: [Gutsy] very slow gnome startup

2007-10-24 Thread dcherryholmes
I attempted the fix proposed by Brandon Snider and it did not work for
me. I also created a new user with default .gnome configs and login was
still very slow. Since I use a laptop, with an ATI card, and suspend is
broken with both the radeon and fglrx driver, this is a pretty serious
regression, at least for those of us that are affected by it.

It's not just the 64 bit version. I just ran into the same thing on a
fresh 32 bit install of Feisty. Which I also had on Edgy. And also
had on Dapper. They have no right to even mention the word "server"
with a bug like this persisting across three releases.
