[Bug 275451] Re: nfs mounts specified in fstab is not mounted on boot.
I am interested to know if adding 'sleep 45' before 'mount -a' in rc.local will work for EmonkIA At first I was under the assumption that it wasn't working with mount -a in rc.local. As I am under the impression that the boot sequence has changed, I was wondering if rc.local was also affected. To test this I added 'sleep 10' before 'mount -a' in rc.local, which did not work. I stepped this up in 5second increments until I landed at 'sleep 45' which allows the rc.local script time for the network to be loaded before attempting the mount. This arrangement works on one out of my three identical workstations I am testing this with. On one of the other workstations a simple 'sleep 10' before 'mount -a' in rc.local worked, as someone referenced in either this or one of the other bug reports on this issue. -- nfs mounts specified in fstab is not mounted on boot. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275451 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 275451] Re: nfs mounts specified in fstab is not mounted on boot.
I am having this exact problem as well. Unfortunately rudd-o's fix is not working for me. Interestingly enough, I have two identical machines, and one is running an exact image of the other's install of ubuntu 9.04 that was cloned onto another SATA flash module using dd. The initial machine works fine, the one using an image of the first install does not. I have cloned the install onto another third flash module, and this one is doing the same thing. I have noticed that on the one that this does not occur on, network manager icon shows wired network not managed, however the network connection works flawlessly. The images of that install when used on the other machine show an auto configured interface in the network manager icon. For now I am going to place mount -a in rc.local as that seems to resolve the issue.
Just to add some more information to this: mount -a works when I run it manually, however it does not work when added to crontab or in rc.local (even with sleep 10 preceding it) I have three of these identical computers. The operating system install/configure was done on one of them, and then imaged onto the flash storage devices for the others. Currently I can put any of the flash modules in the original workstation, and there are no nfs mount on boot issues. When placed into one of the other workstations however, this bug seems to pop up. I have tried many fixes for the many versions of this bug that I have found online, however I am unable to get nfs mounts to work on boot with two of these machines even when using an install that works in another machine. Investigating this server side at the moment, but I do not understand how that could be the issue as mount -a works fine every time. [Bug 150068] Re: Sabayon editor crashes when trying to make a change in a profile
uname output: Linux shuttle 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux apt-cache show sabayon output : Package: sabayon Priority: optional Section: gnome Installed-Size: 3044 Maintainer: Ubuntu Desktop Team ubuntu-desk...@lists.ubuntu.com Original-Maintainer: Cédric Delfosse ced...@debian.org Architecture: amd64 Version: 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 Running Ubuntu 9.04 with xubuntu/xfce4 I am not using gnome, so when I start Sabayon I get the message Xsession: unable to launch gnome-session X session --- gnome- session not found; falling back to default session. This does not seem to hinder the program from running however, and I believe this is just due to the many underlying differences between windowmanagers as someone else stated. Sabayon crashes on me when making changes to a profile. This is after selecting a profile and clicking edit and then creating a desktop launcer or moving around pre-existing ones. Often it is not even a full crash as it were - only the Editing Profile: [users] crashes - the small user profile editor window generally stays open. After opening the profile to edit, I get the following output in the terminal I started the program in: xfdesktop[18267]: starting up ** (update-notifier:18273): DEBUG: crashreport_check The way to replicate the crash is then to simply move an icon/launcher to a different part of the desktop, and then if necessary, move another one. This will cause the profile editor window to crash, leaving the User Profile Editor window where you can select/create profiles still open, and no output in the terminal that Sabayon is running in. Let me know if there is more info that you need, I just wanted to put this here as I am trying to deploy this on an enterprise scale and having Sabayon crash every time I move an icon really hinders moving forward with this. The need to save after every change like an early microsoft office product does not instill confidence in my superiors with regard to this being a viable solution to our needs. [Bug 150068] Re: Sabayon editor crashes when trying to make a change in a profile
Just realized that I forgot to attach the debug log... Apologies for that. I have just opened Sabayon, opened the profile to edit, moved one icon, and then moved another and the window has crashed. After then minimizing Sabayon to type this here in firefox, the small User Profile Editor window appears to have locked up. After telling ubuntu to terminate the non responding application, the User Profile Editor window appears again and is working normally. Attached is the debug log associated with that, ** Attachment added: sabayon-debug-log-2009-06-18-02-49-30.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28051132/sabayon-debug-log-2009-06-18-02-49-30.txt -- Sabayon editor crashes when trying to make a change in a profile https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
