[Bug 913164] Re: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work
My experience is that both the eGalax touchscreen as used by the Dell Duo (with eGalax daemon driver installed), and the Quanta touchscreen as used by the Dell 2310, work as single touch devices using the patches discussed above and implemented in kernel 3.2.0-24.37 3.2.0-24.38, and that these patches are neccessary for this to be the case. However as I neither raised the bug nor fixed it I am uncertain as to whether I should edit the tag as requested in post #56, but I don't want these patches dropped.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913164 Title: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/913164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 913164] Re: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work
Ming Lei, RE: Quanta I can confirm same results with -proposed 3.2.0-24 as I got with 3.4.0-030400rc3. That is touch is recognised and is made usable with Easystroke. RE: Ubuntu-3.2.0-18.29 kernel I would like to test both systems as requested at post #49 however I notice that these debs are amd64 and I am currently using i386. Can I mix and match for touchscreen testing purposes or must I download and update to amd64 first? [Bug 913164] Re: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work
Ming Lei, RE: Ubuntu-3.2.0-18.29 kernel Dell Duo \ eGalaxis Did clean install off precise beta and updated to your kernel. On touching screen cursor dissapeared to bottom right. Updated to all latest updates including latest official kernel (but not proposed) same result. Then installed eGTouch_v2.2.1506.L-x and single touch works and seems stable with your kernel (It also kind of works with latest official kernel but both touchscreen and touchpad quickly stop responding) . Perhaps it may be of interest to note that although I did not need to calibrate, 'sudo eGTouchU' runs but does not allow calibration just line test. Enabling Two-finger scrolling in System Setting-Mouse and Touchpad-Touchpad-Two-finger scrolling also seems to cause problems, seems best set to Edge instead Thank you :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913164 Title: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/913164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 913164] Re: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work
I have both, a Dell Duo with Egalax touchscreen a Dell 2310 with the Quanta touchscreen so I'd like to thank everyone for their work on these problems. I would also like to help to the best of my limited ability. RE: Egalax, I have enabled precise-proposed updates in Synaptic and updated my sources but dont see which packages exactly that I should be updating (5.30pm UK time) - I use linux header image generic pae packages and there is nothing showing for them - should I be installing and looking for updates to the package simply entitled 'Linux'? RE: Quanta, I would be happy to do what I can to help get multi-touch working in precise but would be quite satisfied with stable single touch. Using linux-headers-3.4.0-030400rc3 and easystroke seems to achieve this -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913164 Title: REGRESSION: eGalaxis Touchscreen Driver does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/913164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If I try and burn using Brasero for e.g. it reports no disc in drive. fstab gives following for cd/dvd: /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0 other commands tried and their results: 1) with blank dvd in drive: sudo mount /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 mount: No medium found 2) with blank dvd in drive: sudo lshw -C disk *-cdrom description: DVD writer product: DVD+-RW ND-3570A vendor: Optiarc physical id: 0.0.0 bus info: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:0.0.0 logical name: /dev/cdrom logical name: /dev/dvd logical name: /dev/scd0 logical name: /dev/sr0 version: 104B serial: [Optiarc DVD+-RW ND-3570A104B06031000 capabilities: removable audio cd-r cd-rw dvd dvd-r configuration: ansiversion=5 status=open 3) with blank dvd in drive:/usr/lib/nautilus-cd-burner/list_cddrives Drive: name: DVD+-RW ND-3570A device: /dev/scd0 door: open type: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, CD, DVD is mounted: FALSE max read speed: 8467 KiB/s (CD 56.4x, DVD 6.2x) max write speed: 8467 KiB/s (CD 56.4x, DVD 6.2x) write speeds: 8467 KiB/s (CD 56.4x, DVD 6.2x) 7056 KiB/s (CD 47.0x, DVD 5.2x) 5645 KiB/s (CD 37.6x, DVD 4.1x) 4234 KiB/s (CD 28.2x, DVD 3.1x) 2822 KiB/s (CD 18.8x, DVD 2.0x) 1411 KiB/s (CD 9.4x, DVD 1.0x) Media: label: '' type: Couldn't open media is writable: FALSE is appendable: FALSE capacity: Could not be determined size: Could not be determined 4) hdparm -I /dev/scd0 /dev/scd0: HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Permission denied [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo hdparm -I /dev/scd0 /dev/scd0: ATAPI CD-ROM, with removable media Model Number: Optiarc DVD+/-RW ND-3570A Serial Number: Firmware Revision: 104B Standards: Likely used CD-ROM ATAPI-1 Configuration: DRQ response: 3ms. seemed to get same hal failure after large (100mb+) gutsy beta upgrade today 29/9/07. Re: [Bug 70220] Re: update-manager Could not calculate the upgrade
Michael, used synaptic to remove nvidia-glx, should I edit/add this to launchpad? Or was that something that the update-manager did? after carrying out the above X refused to load on reboot.
