[Bug 473952] Re: X freezes when connecting external monitor

2009-11-14 Thread dvdmeer
Same problem here. When using xrandr (in this case via my application
python-randr) after I have logged in: boom, screen is not usable
anymore.. restarting the X (ctrl-alt-backspace) and everything works
fine.

Bryce, you can close it On 18-12-08 I already wrote that the issue was

at that time. Back then, after installing the updates the problem was
gone. So yes, you can close this.

At least, I'm (think) glad that I'm not the only one with this issue.

Question to you, when you attach your projecter, do you see any image,
or does it stay black (which happenes to me when I attach my TV)?

As notified in a previous message (2008-12-22), remarkable is that for

[Bug 307858] Re: After update xrandr doesn't work properly anymore

2008-12-22 Thread dvdmeer
I just found out there is a bigger problem.

Xrandr only shows one resolution for my LVDS, 1280x800 (which is my
normal resolution). It doesn't come with other resolutions as it should
(e.g. 1024x768), like intrepid does.

So I checked System - Preferences - Screen resolution, same story, just
one resolution available.

[Bug 307858] [NEW] After update xrandr doesn't work properly anymore

2008-12-14 Thread dvdmeer
Public bug reported:

After the update of 10 december xrandr isn't working properly (jaunty).
These are the updates I received:

libxrandr-dev (2:1.2.3-1) to 2:1.2.99.2-0ubuntu1
libxrandr2 (2:1.2.3-1) to 2:1.2.99.2-0ubuntu1

When I type xrandr and have my TV connected I do see this as being connected in
the terminal.
But my TV doesn't show anything unfortunately. I tried this at two different
TV's. Same thing. Previously I had no problems at all in jaunty.

So I started Intrepid, no problems here, I have a clone (or everything
else I want) at my TV.

I'll attach xorg.0.log and the gdm log.

The following error was encountered. You may need to update your
configuration to solve this.

(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (load failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available.

After I press OK on this message I get a popup, here I can choose to

get to see my background wallpaper and icons on the desktop but no

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

After todays updates (Jaunty) of the package xserver-xorg-video-intel
the driver won't be loaded.

I installed the updates, restarted the system (was required/asked),
after the reboot I got the error message. Somehting like low screen
graphics. (I'm sorry, I didn't write this down).

I looked up in the xserver log, I found this:
==
(II) Scanning /usr/share/xserver-xorg/pci directory for additional PCI ID's
supported by the drivers
(II) Matched intel from file name intel.ids
(==) Matched intel for the autoconfigured driver
(==) Assigned the driver to the xf86ConfigLayout
(II) LoadModule: "intel"

(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
dlopen: libdrm_intel.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
(II) UnloadModule: "intel"
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (loader failed, 7)

Oke, I'm not having this message anymore. My device is mounted
succesfully. I have been "playing" with the session (system -

[Bug 298550] [NEW] Emesene can't login into Live Mail

2008-11-15 Thread dvdmeer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: emesene

Login in with emesene goes well, all my contacts are shown. Also I see
correctly how many new e-mails I have.
But when I click on that button to open my mailbox emesene can't login to the
mailbox.
I'm being redirected to a page to enter my password. The e-mail address is set
correctly.

Using debug mode in terminal there's nothing wrong to see.

[Bug 251781] Re: [intrepid] Unable to mount USB memory devices

2008-11-15 Thread dvdmeer
In Jaunty I'm getting the message

Bus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply.
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply,
the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.

But this happens only with an NTFS USB device. A ext3 USB device is
mounted at the normal way, instead of ntfs...

Mounting the ntfs usb device via terminal does works.

In intrepid I'm not having this issue.

[Bug 291467] Re: Delayed Intrepid Login

2008-11-15 Thread dvdmeer
I have the same issue. With intrepid and also with jaunty.

In jaunty I found in daemon.log:

x-session-manager[6014]: WARNING: Unable to find provider 'gnome-wm' of
required component 'windowmanager'
gdm[5971]: WARNING: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatale X-fout - :0 wordt
opnieuw gestart
x-session-manager[6320]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-wm.desktop' failed to
register before timeout

When I uncheck gnome-wm in my sessions I have a quick login. Rechecking
results into slow login again.

[Bug 251617] Re: Firefox opens without window decoration with Compiz

2008-11-10 Thread dvdmeer
Can confirm this for Intrepid too.

I noticed that deleting the file localstore.rdf in the .mozilla directory fixed
it. For a while, then it came back.
Then I took a look at the file, and saw the lines that was responsible for it.
I deleted those lines, and till now I didn't had any problems.

It were the lines looking like this:

With total wrong numbers (too large).

For the moment I haven't been able to reproduce after deleting lines in that
file.
If someone knows who to reproduce it, let me know.

[Bug 251212] Re: IBEX: xorg crash when changing resolution and going from Dual head to only laptop display

2008-10-31 Thread dvdmeer
I tried to get a backtrace. But my system crashes.

This is what I did:

- install the package xserver-xorg-core-dbg, libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg and
xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg
- add the ServerFlags to xorg.conf
- restarted gdm
- pgrep Xorg (which gives me a number 5189)
- sudo gdb /usr/bin/Xorg
- attach 5189. And this is the moment my system crashes. It doesn't respond to
anything. I'll have to restart my system. I did it twice, Both the same issue.
