[Bug 289484] Re: package cairo-dock-data 1.6.2.3-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite `/usr/share/cairo-dock/emblems/charge.svg', which is also in package cairo-dock

2008-10-27 Thread eentonig
Closed cairo-dock and reran the upgrade. Worked perfect. Cairo doesn't
seem to have a problem when launching it afterwards.

[Bug 263555] Re: [intrepid] 2.6.27 e1000e kernel places Intel gigE chipsets at risk

2008-09-22 Thread eentonig
It's alpha software, people should be considered as being aware that
using it might break stuff.

Furthermore, people should be smart enough to read about the known
issues prior to installing it.

Yes a warning and blacklisting the e1000 driver should be done, but
revoking an alpha because of a (serious) bug just doesn't seem the
answer to me, because it blocks you from finding other issues that might
bite people when the official release gets out.

For me, you can close the bug. I got a new laptop from work and no
longer experience the issue. So I can't provide you with any relevant
debug info.

[Bug 220745] [NEW] Sound converter frequent crashes

2008-04-22 Thread eentonig
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: soundconverter

1. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 8.04
Release:8.04
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

2. soundconverter:
  Installed: 1.0.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.0.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1.0.1-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://be.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/universe Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3. Expected: I have about ~100G of .m4a files (sorted by
...\\\. ) which I want to convert to mp3. Since I'm
fairly confident by now that all tags are fairly correct, I use Sound
Converter (from here on, SC) to add a few folders to convert.
After adding them to the application, the application loads the tags and
allows you to start the convertion inte a chosen format.

4. What happens: ~ 90% of the time, everything works fine. But 5% of the
time, the application crashes while importing the folders. And 5% it
crashes while converting the files. The crash behavior seems to be
consistent. A folder that crashes during importing, always crashes
during importing. A folder that crashes the app during the convertion,
always crashes during the convertion.

I'll try to add a trace of the crash a bit further.

** Affects: soundconverter (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
