[Bug 1019273] Re: Version Bump to 4.4

This is one of the reasons why I abandoned Debian and Ubuntu: they have
an embarrassingly old Eclipse version.

[Bug 1160322] Re: [ 21.125934] INFO @wl_cfg80211_attach : Registered CFG80211 phy

2014-04-22 Thread ekerazha
This "Info" message should be hidden. Having a console message before
the boot screen is ugly, moreover it does confuse non-technical users:
have you ever seen a cryptic kernel message before the Microsoft Windows
boot screen? I replaced Windows XP with Ubuntu 14.04 on a netbook and
its owner immediately asked "what is this message??!".

[Bug 1261175] Re: [wishlist] F2FS missing in Ubiquity "Use as" partition option

F2FS should definitely be available as file-system for the root

[Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat (Feisty, Gutsy)

2008-11-24 Thread ekerazha
I confirm this issue on Gutsy and Intrepid (I didn't test Feisty and
Hardy).

I have this issue using a Logitech USB wireless keyboard. When the issue
happens, I can temporary fix the issue by switching the USB port where
the USB wireless receiver is connected... when it happens again, I
switch the USB port again etc. etc.

This issue is veeery annoyin ;-)

Intrepid is still affected by this issue. This bug *doesn't* exist on
Microsoft Windows and on Arch Linux, I think this could be yet another
Ubuntu "mispatching" of vanilla sources (Linux kernel?).

[Bug 67317] Re: I/O error copying large files to an USB flash memory

2007-09-18 Thread ekerazha
Well, I use Arch Linux now... however, I workarounded this bug using the
external power supplier for the USB hub (instead of taking the power
from the USB port only). *But* note that on Microsoft Windows it worked
fine also without the external power supplier.

[Bug 110963] Distribution Upgrade fails on a small /boot partition

2007-04-29 Thread ekerazha
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 95945 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95945

Public bug reported:

I use the XFS filesystem and with Ubuntu "Edgy" I had to create a
separate EXT3 partition for /boot because the installer (the
"alternative" one) complained about GRUB being unable to work on a XFS
partition. So... 32 MB are usually good enough for a simple /boot
partition. However... now the "Distribution Upgrade" tool tells me there
isn't enough available space on /boot to complete the upgrade path to
Ubuntu Feisty. Maybe the "Distribution Upgrade" tool should save its
"temp files" on the largest partition and not on the partition where
there are the files to upgrade... or maybe the installer should warn
about creating mount points on small partitions (< 64 MB for /boot ?).

Bye :-)

[Bug 64388] Edgy GDM caps lock bug

2006-10-06 Thread ekerazha
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Ubuntu 6.10 Beta "Edgy Eft" - GDM caps lock bug.

How to reproduce:

1) Power on your PC.
2) Before Ubuntu loads, press caps lock on the keyboard to enable the caps lock.
3) When GDM appears it warns "caps lock enabled", but when you write into the
"username field", it writes lowercase (it should write uppercase because
there's caps lock enabled). If you press caps lock to disable the caps lock, it
writes uppercase (it should write lowercase because caps lock is disabled!) and
in both these situations the ENTER key doesn't work (I press ENTER on the
keyboard and nothing happens) so you can't login.
