I totally disagree. The computer should lock automatically when idle. Instead of solving the problem you want to get rid of the feature. There are times when people are distracted and walk away from the computer. If someone wanted to be malicious this would be their opportunity. Just do a little "Kevin Mitnik" and your in. The issue is still there, but minor as I know I don't have bluetooth and simply ignore it. This is not a bios problem as it doesn't show up until the kernel starts to load and doesn't show up on older version of ubuntu or free dos. I have the same issues on my desktop. I have tried changing mice and it has the same effect. My keyboard how ever is a "Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600" and I have a Logitech RX 250 and a Logitech M-BZ105A (Fancy thing) Their lsusb numbers are: Keyboard: 045e:0750 Mouse: 046d:c050 And yes, the problem happens only when I seem to hit any of the keys onthe keyboard that are extra... so the calculator for example makes this happen. The calculator will come up but then it seems to have the keep mouse button contently pressed as the window I was on is highlighting text. Public bug reported: Some boots it seems to read longer when booting, and then doesn't show the icon theme that I have selected. Nor do the volume-keys work. (Sound and changing the volume with the mouse or keyboard works fine, it's just the hotkeys.) This is a Dell Precision M4400 and for the longest time this seems to work just fine. My special keys that I have set in gnome for pause and play are also not working when in this state. Brightness works however. (Shows the notification in the corner as well. (But all video froze, even effects in totem when playing music.) Required a hard reboot. 8.10 Works very well in xawtv but in cheese it doesn't show anything, and in camorama it gives an error that /dev/video0 Could not connect to video device. "Please check connection." And weird enough, it actually works in skype very well. I can confirm this with warsow, tremulous, and many other programs. This did not happen in gutsy. We had setup a lan party and had 25 computers running and they all had compiz by default. Actually, for me this is a 32 bit issue. I really doubt it has anything to do with the bit in the processor. It seems that when the brightness is dark, and I try to press the button to make it brighter, it jumps right to full. When I get my computer back and fixed.
