[Bug 391533] Re: Application windows do not restore to last known position.

2010-06-13 Thread erlguta
Is unacceptable that gnome does not have this option in 2010.
With gnome developers saying all the time that this should be implemented by
applications devs and applications devs not doing it, we may move on without
this functionality, so BASIC!!, until 2020.
I am bored every time i power on my computer to place my apps (gnome-terminal,
evolution, firefox) and resizing / maximizing to be how i want.
And this, all the times, all the days, again and again. Frustrating...
This is one reason why I seriously thought to stop using gnome.

[Bug 460072] Re: Ubuntu One does not synchronize

2010-05-06 Thread erlguta
I have the same problem in 10.04 in my netbook, my home desktop, and my job

I uploaded one simple file two days ago in my home desktop (10.04 amd64) and in
can not see this simple file in any of the other two pc.
I apologize if my comments seem very hard, but it has never worked consistently
for me. Neither the 9.10 nor now with 10.04. I think that in this service,
there is much room for improvement. Unreliable leave your documents, notes or

[Bug 203527] Re: Clicking on clock applet hangs gnome-panel

2010-02-10 Thread erlguta
This bug affects to me in Karmic too. If for some reason, evolution calendar
hangs up when i click in the clock applet it complety haungs up the upper and
lower panel.
Maybe it is because i have configured syncronization with google calendar, and
if it is inaccessible, it makes evolution calendar crash and this the clock
applet and the panels.
This happens often when i resume form suspend.
I attach one screenshot where yo can see evolution hanged up and the clock

[Bug 436729] Re: [Dell Inc. Inspiron 910] suspend/resume failure [non-free: wl]

2010-02-07 Thread erlguta
I think this bug is related with this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/linux/+bug/424877

It seems that it is independent from hardware model. The systems
complety hangs up if you try to suspend with one MicroSD inserted.

Is the workaround mentioned in #424877 bug, of installing 'linux-
backports-modules-karmic' and adding GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet
splash pciehp.pciehp_force=1 to /etc/default/grub solving this bug?.

or perhaps someone simply forgot to put in karmic one script in
/etc/pm/sleep.d/ or /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/ like this:
case $1 in
hibernate|suspend)
umount /path/to/SD_Card
;;
resume|thaw)
mount /path/to/SD_Card /mount/point/
;;
*) exit 0
;;
esac

Somebody can say something about this bug, please?

[Bug 436729] Re: [Dell Inc. Inspiron 910] suspend/resume failure [non-free: wl]

2010-02-07 Thread erlguta
I can confirm that script at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne/Ubuntu9.10 works for me too
in one 'Dell mini 9' and it unmount any SD cards before sleeping:

# Drop to: /etc/pm/sleep.d
# Use this script to prevent data loss on mounted MMC/SD
# cards. It syncs data and umounts all mmcblk devices prior to
# suspend, and cancels suspend if umounting was not possible
# (i.e: something locks a file)
case ${1} in
hibernate|suspend)
/bin/sync
for drive in $( /bin/ls /dev/mmcblk?p* ); do
/bin/umount ${drive} /dev/null
# If umount failed: abort suspend
if [ $? -gt 0 ]; then
# Test if device keeps mounted. Previous command could fail
# (i.e device was not mounted) with a non-stopper
# problem for the suspend process.
/bin/mount | /bin/grep ${drive}
if [ $? -eq 0 ]; then
exit 1
fi
fi
done
;;
#resume|thaw)
## Do nothing. All devices will be automatically mounted again.
#   ;;
esac

So the soluttion to all of this duplicated bugs is simple, no?

suspend, Ubuntu One request me to sign in and add PC again and again and
again...Even if i add mi laptop, in the same session, it interrupts my work
opening one new tab in my browser.
It is so annoying that i opted to completely disable ubuntu one.

PD: One clarification: this happens only in my netbook. I have a pc at

[Bug 435805] Re: Icons overlap for categories with = 9 rows

2009-12-02 Thread erlguta
I think this bug, despite not being a critical in terms of operation ,
is very annoying and puts the usability of this project (UNR) in very
bad place. Really nobody can fix this?. It is very difficult to click
something in the System menu...

[Bug 278711] Re: open-vm-source doesn't build

2009-10-30 Thread erlguta
This bug still persist in Karmic.
m-a fails to build modules.

# dpkg -l opnen-vm-source

ii open-vm-source2009.07.22-179896-2
Source for VMware guest systems driver

# uname -a
Linux denese 2.6.31-14-generic-pae #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 15:22:42 UTC 2009
i686 GNU/Linux

I also attach m-a log file:
open-vm-source.buildlog.2.6.31-14-generic-pae.1256898385

I think this is important to be fixed before 10.4 LTS version in server for VM
machines with vmware.
We have several VM server machines with 8.04 and open-vm installed in my
company. That machines can not be upgraded to the LTS, as without these
modules for vmware-tools will not suspend properly, besides other interesting
features (like time synchronize, etc).

It is a temporary solution, but must be corrected.

[Bug 378359] [NEW] Pidgin does not save window position when minimized to tray

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

I always have pidgin minimized in the systray, but when i reboot it does not
save the window position and i always see it again in the desktop so i must

Maybe not as a bug in pidgin itself. If this is the case, please let me now.

[Bug 202089] Re: Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume

2008-12-19 Thread erlguta
I've tested in my 3 machines with the jsteinhart propossed PPA packages
In two it works and in one Dell with Creative Labs SB Audigy LS it does not
works:
PC 1:
00:05.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP61 High Definition Audio (rev a2)
It works sound after suspend

PC 2:
05:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy LS
It still not works after suspend

Laptop Dell Mini 9:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)
It works sound after suspend

rbg:
have to restart firefox in order to make flash applications play audio again

Have you tested youtube for example?
For me it works ok after suspend.

[Bug 301259] Re: kiax crashes on dial, undefined symbol: speex_preprocess_state_init

2008-12-16 Thread erlguta
I have the same problem.
It login in my Asterisk PBX ok, but every time i trie to dial one number it
crash:

kiax: symbol lookup error: kiax: undefined symbol:
speex_preprocess_state_init

The problem is that is the same version in all releases so i can't try another
version of kiax.
I am in Intrepid, so i will try in Hardy to see if this bug still happen.

It would be interesting to solve this bug so it is the only IAX
softphone in Ubuntu...

[Bug 295212] Re: Hangs on Starting Up

2008-12-02 Thread erlguta
This is what i did.
My usb disk was in vfat (1Gb).
I formated it in ext3 (you will lose all data in the usb drive):

- umount /media/disk

- sudo mkfs.ext3 /dev/sdb
(Caution: Careful while entering device/partition name; wrong name can wipe out
entire hard disk!!!)

and now when i start usb-creator it tell me to format the disk (yes, again)...
and it works.

So...it does not works with one usb disk formated in vfat?

[Bug 179042] Re: Videos tear and blink when enabling compiz [AMD Feature #7647] [EPR#257833]

2008-11-06 Thread erlguta
Did anybody try to disable compiz and run to opengl apps at the same
time if the tearing and blinking still occurs? like maybe google earth
and glxgears without compiz?

Yes of course, and it works, but as you see in the title this is a
problem related with ATI (fglrx) and applications (3D, videoplayers...)
with compiz Enabled.

Today most of us can not live without the normal compiz effects enabled.

They are very useful to switch between applications and desktops and
have more productivity.

Bluetooth is not file transfer.
??
And how do you send your photos between mobiles or mobile-PC.
What's that?

I've always been able to send files and photos from my cell phone to my
PC (Something very useful and used) until now with intrepid.

As said before by Emmet, you have install gnome-user-share and enable
file sharing in the preference?

gnome-user-share install Apache (apache2 apache2-mpm-worker apache2-utils
apache2.2-common) in a Desktop environment.
I don't see it one logical solution to be required to install apache to have
bluetooth working.

[Bug 206648] Re: amulegui does not start in Hardy Heron

2008-07-17 Thread erlguta
I explain it better.
I had the same situation as Josu. I have one embebed server with Debian and
amule-daemon server running with version 2.1.3
In my laptop with kubuntu Hardy, amule-utils-gui upgraded to 2.2.1 version and
there seems to be any kind of incompatibility with diferent versions.
So what i did, is upgrade the amule core daemon in my debian server to 2.2.1
ando now amule-utils-gui conects ok.
It seems not to be one ubuntu bug.
Should this bug be closed?
What do you think?

[Bug 146145] Re: Can't recive files from cell phone

2008-03-14 Thread erlguta
I think this situation is pathetic. Throughout the life of Gutsy there is not
has been solved this easy bug. This gives an indication of the importance
that give developers from Ubuntu to the Kubuntu distribution. People like
peppelorum have solved this bug and in February 14, 2008 nobody from the
Kubuntu team has shown signs of life to solve this.
We are still waiting for one official solution!

PD: Thank you peppelorum ;)
