[Bug 774978] Re: xserver crashes in RecordAReply when XRecord is enabled in syndaemon

2011-06-03 Thread erm67
librecord.so is an Xorg extension, I had the same problem but after
disabling the record extension it disappeared:

In /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-modules.conf I added:

Section "Module"
 Disable "record"
EndSection

[Bug 553296] [NEW] [ICH4 - Intel ICH6] pulseaudio no sound in gnome after 10.4 upgrade

2010-04-01 Thread erm67
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

System is a Dell D610 PentiumM 1.87.
After upgrading to 10.4 sound stopped working at all, drivers are correctly
loaded, no error messages in dmesg, all levels in alsamixer are set to high and
sp/dif output is disabled. I cannot check if sp/dif is working since it is only
available through the docking station of my laptop.
Neither the headphones nor the internal speakers work.
Sound works correctly in WindowsXP

After further testing it appears that sound is working on the system but
not through pulseaudio

[Bug 29760] Re: Sound does not work properly in Flash in firefox

2007-05-07 Thread erm67
Adobe has published the reference code to write audio plugins for flash 9
http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flash_Player:Additional_Interface_Support_for_Linux
Revolution Linux, a french provider, has written one that supports OSS ALSA ESD
and Pulseaudio (http://pulseaudio.revolutionlinux.com/PulseAudio) it solves
most if not all problems related to audio in Flash. I compiled myself the last
release but there are .deb for a little bit older version available here
http://pulseaudio.vdbonline.net/libflashsupport/

But to have it included in Ubuntu we need a ubuntu developer.

[Bug 103573] Re: RaConfig does not work

2007-04-25 Thread erm67
I downloaded the source of the rt2500 package shipped with ubuntu and reading
the diff file I noticed that it was patched to use eth0 as the default device
name, while the driver uses the standard device name ra0. thus the error. it is
not necessary to recompile the utility, just
sudo vi /etc/rt2x00.conf
put a single line with
ra0
in the file and save now it works.

[Bug 103573] Re: RaConfig does not work

The utility and the driver have different versions, ie. the driver is
the last release 1.1.0-beta4, downloading the corresponding source from
upstream and recompiling the utility solves the problem

[Bug 109066] version mismatch with module installed with kernel

2007-04-22 Thread erm67
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rt2500

it is probably the same problem as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/48397
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/70120
but I could not configure the module in any way using network-admin iwpriv and
iwconfig so I had to resort to this old util.
The config util is version 1.1.0+cvs20060620 as shown by the package name,
while the kernel module is version 1.1.0 beta4 as shown by
dmesg|grep rt2500
[ 45.649121] rt2500 1.1.0 BETA4 2006/06/18 http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com
So RaConfig2500 can not connect to the driver, gives the message "device not
found (check rt2x00.conf)" and exits.

Downloading the source for version 1.1.0 beta4 (the latest) from
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com and recompiling generates a working RaConfig2500.
This utility should no longer be necessary but I could not configure the driver
to use wpa-psk in any other way, in fact wpa_supplicant is not supported for
this driver.

P.S. to compile is necessary to add
#include
before all occurences of
#include

info:

[Bug 108577] Re: pulseaudio esd wrapper is not working with gnome

2007-04-21 Thread erm67
I have run an strace
strace -o log esdplay /usr/share/sounds/login.wav
and it shows that esdplay looks for the socket in /tmp/.esd-1000 and of course
can not find it
access("/tmp/.esd-1000/socket", R_OK|W_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)

and indeed
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cd /tmp
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp$ ln -s .esd .esd-1000
esdplay /usr/share/sounds/login.wav

works like a charm

[Bug 108577] pulseaudio esd wrapper is not working with gnome

2007-04-21 Thread erm67
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio-esound-compat
I am using Feisty Fawn release on i 386
I installed pulseaudio and the esound compat package, in the Gnome ->
Preferences -> Sound -> Devices I have set all devices to pulseaudio and
clicking test I can hear sound and the x11 bell plays in pulseaudio. The
directory /tmp/.esd is created but

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ esdplay /usr/share/sounds/login.wav
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:864:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Usage:program_name [address][:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

The most strange thing is that
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ esdplay -s 127.0.0.1 /usr/share/sounds/login.wav
works perfectly ...

If I enable "software sound mixing" in Gnome -> Preferences -> Sound -> Sound
I cannot hear sounds and the syslog is filled with
Apr 21 16:51:40 ubuntu pulseaudio[5897]: pid.c: daemon already running.

[Bug 94233] Re: (feisty) flash9 doesn't work with pulseaudio

2007-04-21 Thread erm67
According to the pulseaudio developers is a bug in adobe flash 9. The
only way to make it work is to use libflashsupport plugin. Revolution
linux is writing one that works albeit sometimes makes firefox crash.
Hopefully they will continue to develop it, they told me they asked
Adobe permission to create a sourceforge project for that.
