[Bug 1539939] Re: missing menu in top panel

2016-03-21 Thread eros2
I have this issue on both desktop and laptop (16.04 on both).
Observations:
1. Firefox/Thunderbird always have menus, while regular gtk programs (nautilus,
gnome-terminal) are not. So, issue in some gtk component. Not tried qt apps.
2. When I boot PC/laptop and then login - issue mostly present. Then I end
session and relogin - issue gone.
3. When I boot PC/laptop and not login for some time (several minutes) - then
login - no issue.

[Bug 1177717] [NEW] Nvidia 310 experimental driver should be updated due to CVE-2013-0131

2013-05-08 Thread eros2
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

Current version of nvidia driver in package 'nvidia-experimental-310' is
310.14. It should be updated at least to 310.44 as it fixes
CVE-2013-0131.

See http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-display-amd64-310.44-driver.html

Ubuntu 12.04.2 Precise Pangolin.

Steam users mostly use this driver, as Steam recommends it, so I think
updating is important.

I installed nvidia-experimental-310 package and got a blue tint. Then I
reinstalled libvdpau package and blue ting is gone.

Looks like nvidia driver package includes it's own unfixed libvdpau.

[Bug 1062396] Re: Bad Piggies loads forever

2012-10-26 Thread eros2
Here http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=versioniId=26748
is the trick to run - Ran winecfg, set Z: to /.wine (like Mike.)
Without doing this, game stops on title screen.

Works for me with wine 1.5.

[Bug 1068556] [NEW] Clicking wrong icon due to dash rearrange

2012-10-19 Thread eros2
Public bug reported:

If dash not used for some time, or after user logged in, when user click
ubuntu logo to show dash, dash displayed and after some delay (two or
three seconds) rearranges application icons by last access time. If user
click needed icon before rearrange is done, wrong application launches.
Very annoying.

Reproduceable on all my PCs and notebooks.

Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS, Unity 5.16.0-0ubuntu1.

[Bug 998820] Re: Screen garbling after wake from sleep

2012-08-15 Thread eros2
Yes, this is still an issue.
However, with latest Precise updates screen garbled only on Unity panel and
launcher (see attached screenshot).

I switch display resolution to another and then switch back to redraw
screen and get Unity panel and launcher looking normal.

I'll test with upstream kernel later.
Thanks.

By this comment, other users also affected -

I think it maybe compiz problem, as no problem in Unity2D, only in Unity
  3D.

  Compiz version: 1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1
  Ubuntu version: 12.04 i386
  Tested nvidia drivers: 295.33, 295.49, 302.07.

Right now just tested if issue present with nouveau - and with nouveau
no issue, so it may be related to compiz + nvidia driver

[Bug 1004627] [NEW] No window selection mode when virtual desktop size set to one

2012-05-25 Thread eros2
Public bug reported:

As I not use virtual desktop feature, I wish to remove workplace
switcher icon from launcher. In ccsm, general options, desktop size, I
set horizontal and vertical virtual size to 1. But then when I click
launcher icon with application which have multiple windows - only one
window brings to top, and window selection mode not activated.

Steps to reproduce:

1. In ccsm go to general options, desktop size, set horizontal and vertical
virtual size to 1.
2. Open two terminal windows, so on launcher terminal icon will have two marks.
3. Click terminal icon on launcher. Recent terminal window will bring to top.
4. Click terminal icon on launcher again. No effect. Expected behavior -
window selection mode activated and I can select window.

[Bug 993265] Re: Wine breaks window decorations for all applications (gtk-window-decorator crashes)

2012-05-16 Thread eros2
As I reported in duplicate bug #997157, when I heavily use wine
application (Canon Digital Photo Professional) gtk-window-decorator
regularly exits with following error message:

The program 'gtk-window-decorator' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 93198 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Compiz version: 1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1
Wine version: 1.4-0ubuntu4
Ubuntu version: 12.04 i386

[Bug 998820] Re: Screen garbling after wake from sleep

2012-05-15 Thread eros2
Joseph,
Natty was installed before on this PC, and all works ok.
I reinstalled system to Precise at 30 April and run into this issue.

These was clean install, as after upgrade I was run into bug #982485 and
trying to solve it performed clean install.

Right now just tested if issue present with nouveau - and with nouveau
no issue, so it may be related to compiz + nvidia driver.

(Can't use nouveau as it terrible slow with Unity and Wine games just
not work with it).
