I'm no longer interested on developing QtSixA.
If you are I'd be welcome to give the project to you (or anyone else who
volunteers).

[Bug 988079] Re: Much slower OpenGL frame rates with unityshell loaded, than plain compiz

2012-08-18 Thread falkTX
I test this on my laptop, unity[-3d] is finally usable at last.
(DualCore 2.1GHz, Intel MHD4500, 2Gb RAM).

Previously unity was very sluggish, even for actions like moving windows.
Disabling the unity plugin in ccsm did show potential, but we need that plugin
for the desktop itself.

With the update, unity-3d seems to run at the same speed as compiz
without unity.

Thanks very much to the person who found the issue and fixed it!

[Bug 838446] Re: ubuntustudio has no lightdm theme

2011-08-31 Thread falkTX
Added a simple lightdm theme package, based on the mythbuntu one.

It uses the gtk greeter, so we'll need to change the default (unity)
greeter to the gtk one in the ubuntustudio-default-settings package,
probably in postinst.

Fix has been pushed to bzr, commit #56
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntustudio-dev/ubuntustudio/ubuntustudio-menu/revision/56

It reworks the menu package (no more hacks about default system menu), and
works on both Gnome2, KDE and XFCE.
(Unity does not use system menus)

The commit has comments out untranslated strings, so the menu item would
not be blank.

[Bug 723276] Re: /usr/bin/hdspmixer is missing

2011-05-23 Thread falkTX
the solution for this could not be simpler - just rebuild alsa-tools.

it seems that alsa-tools should build-depend no alsa-lib 1.0.24, which is not
the case right now.
(I guess that alsa-tools was built before or at the same time as alsa-lib...)

I fixed it in my PPA (just rebuild):

you can always try KXStudio in a virtual machine...

my point is not to deprecate anything or anyone, instead, I want to help them.
the kxstudio code/fixes/patches are public available, and so as my new
'cadence' tools.

The PPAs (upgrade) is just to ease installation of new software.
You could just install the PPAs without any KXStudio stuff on it.

I'm closing this bug now.

[Bug 695086] [NEW] needs-packaging] LADI Session Handler

2010-12-28 Thread falkTX
Public bug reported:

LADI Session Handler or simply ladish is a session management system
for JACK applications on GNU/Linux. Its aim is to allow you to have
many different audio programs running at once, to save their setup,
close them down and then easily reload the setup at some other
 time. ladish doesn't deal with any kind of audio or MIDI data itself;
it just runs programs, deals with saving/loading (arbitrary) data and
connects JACK ports together. It can also be used to move entire
sessions between computers, or post sessions on the Internet for
 download.

I got a composite build failure recently in my PPA, but I've fixed it

It's not the same error as this one (missing 'QString::free' symbol, invalid
operation), but I guess I'll help here in anycase it happens later
(my compile error was due to 'QString(0)' being "too generic")

Attached the patch that fixed my build

The create new button is now disabled if PyQt < v4.5.0

Thanks for replying (I'm impressed...)

KDE users will probably want to use this repo, and it doesn't hurt gnome
And because Karmic will be out soon, I guess this shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks

[Bug 436722] [NEW] QtSixA crashes when creating a new profile

2009-09-25 Thread falktx
Public bug reported:

When using PyQt < 4.5.0, QtSixA crashes when creating a new profile.
This won't be a problem for Ubuntu 9.10/Karmic users

For Jaunty users, a workaround is to install a newer version of PyQt.
They can use the Kubuntu-PPA repo:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu jaunty main

The repo is not available for Ubuntu Intrepid, so Intrepid users
shouldn't create new profiles.

[Bug 124743] Re: Sony Sixaxis Controller does not work over bluetooth

2008-12-09 Thread falktx
I'm working on an application to do this automatically.

For now, I have made a simple GUI based on zenity.
You can connect and disconnect it, and it doesn't not require downgrade
bluez-utils.
(It runs on 32-bit, 64-bit, sparc and powerpc)
