[Bug 445170] Re: [gm45] [Karmic] Xorg doesn't display full area on external monitor
I have a similar issue, but in my case, the combination shown above works (see attachment 'screenshot-small.png', purple area is visible area). However, because of bug #389519 (pointer gets lost above the upper menubar), I want to move my small primary screen up to align it with the top of the bigger screen. But when I do this, I get a big rectangular black part on my primary screen (see attachment 'screenshot-1-small.png, again, purple area is the visible area). I know that this very bug reports a mirrored background on the secondary screen, and I get a black rectangle on my primary screen, but I thought that these issues are quite related. Should I create a new bug for this? ** Attachment added: Similar problem on Lenovo Thinkpad X61s http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35009436/Screenshot-small.png -- [gm45] [Karmic] Xorg doesn't display full area on external monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/445170 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 434528] [NEW] Mobile Broadband disconnects. Reboot needed.
Public bug reported: My Huawei E220 dongle has started to disconnect every now and then. It can run fine for several hours, but suddenly it can disconnect and I cannot connect again no matter what I do (click reconnect, physically disconnect the USB-device and plug it back in). The only solution is a reboot after which everything is just fine again. Okay. The latest ufraw has support for 450D but not 500D. The latest dcraw has support for 500D, but ufraw hasn't taken in those changes yet. I managed to realize that ufraw doesn't use the dcraw binary (but duplicates dcraw code), download the sources, find the affected code, patch it, build it and everything took about 15 minutes. [Bug 371585] Re: window decorations disappear on login
Alexandre: I moved the whole .gconf to get a new fresh one. And it has worked after log-out/log-in, reboot, log-out, log-in. (You will lose window-settings / themes / saved networks etc, but I couldn't bother tracking down the exact problem). This is just a guess, but it seems like you are moving something that is within a session, which sounds to me is something that gets generated during boot-up and/or when you log-in, meaning that the problem is elsewhere in gconf that actually generates this incorrect config. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager When returning from hibernation, network-manager creates a new connection for the reinitialized USB-dongle, resulting in multiple entries in the connections-list from which only the latest is valid. Screenshot attached (it's apparently not possible to PrtSc when a pop- up is up.. so I had to take it with my mobile.. in a car. So it's really blurry. Is this a (gnome-)bug that should be reported? lspci: - 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub (rev 0c) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20b3 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Capabilities: access denied Kernel driver in use: agpgart-intel Kernel modules: intel-agp 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20b5 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at f800 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Memory at e000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 1800 [size=8] Capabilities: access denied Kernel modules: intelfb 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20b5 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Memory at f810 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Capabilities: access denied 00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82566MM Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20de Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 220 Memory at f820 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=128K] Memory at f8225000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] I/O ports at 1840 [size=32] Capabilities: access denied Kernel driver in use: e1000e Kernel modules: e1000e 00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20aa Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 20 I/O ports at 1860 [size=32] Kernel driver in use: uhci_hcd Kernel modules: uhci-hcd 00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20aa Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 21 I/O ports at 1880 [size=32] Kernel driver in use: uhci_hcd Kernel modules: uhci-hcd 00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) (prog-if 20) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20ab Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 22 Memory at f8426c00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1K] Capabilities: access denied Kernel driver in use: ehci_hcd Kernel modules: ehci-hcd 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20ac Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17 Memory at f822 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: access denied Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Bus: primary=00, secondary=02, subordinate=02, sec-latency=0 I/O behind bridge: 2000-2fff Memory behind bridge: f400-f5ff Prefetchable memory behind bridge: f850-f85f Capabilities: access denied Kernel driver in use: pcieport-driver Kernel modules: shpchp 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03) Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Bus: primary=00, secondary=03, subordinate=03, sec-latency=0 I/O behind bridge: 3000-3fff Memory behind bridge: f600-f7ff Prefetchable memory behind bridge: f860-f86f Capabilities: access denied Kernel driver in use: pcieport-driver Kernel modules: shpchp 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20aa Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 I/O ports at 18a0 [size=32] Kernel driver in use: uhci_hcd Kernel modules: uhci-hcd 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20aa Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17 I/O ports at 18c0 [size=32] Kernel driver in use: uhci_hcd Kernel modules: uhci-hcd 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2
