ok...will just stick with 14.04 or find another dist. to move too, to many
systems to have to hack up with PPA's..
thanks

[Bug 1573731] [NEW] Ubuntu 16.04 removed openJDK-7 from repositories

2016-04-22 Thread fgdn17
Public bug reported:

Being an AOSP builder / tester for years, have always used Ubuntu as it's the
preferred system environment for AOSP builds. The beta 1 release of Ubuntu
16.04 worked fine, the final released seems to have removed dependencies for
using openJDK-7. Would it not be prudent to at least allow openjdk-7 as part
of the official repository, at least until everyone has finally
moved onto AOSP "N" software, many of us still build / debug / develop for
Lollipop / Marshmallow which need openJDK-7 as specified by AOSPthe various
PPA's I've tried all seem to have other issues and would prefer using a
standard Ubuntu release instead of having to hack up my build systems.

** Affects: openjdk-7 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
