[Bug 74000] Re: crashes when I change gnome theme
This happened to me also. But, in addition, theme manager and perl also crashed. ** Attachment added: "bug-report description" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5421970/_usr_bin_gnome-theme-manager.1000.crash -- crashes when I change gnome theme https://launchpad.net/bugs/74000 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have these third-party repositories. [Bug 56877] synaptic doesn't work; aptitude does
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic I use ubuntu dapper with gnome. After installing today's upgrades (8/19/06), synaptic and Add/Remove Programs no longer worked. I couldn't open synaptic. Add/Remove Programs opened but quit when I tried to install anything. When I input synaptic into the command line, I got: synaptic: error while loading shared libraries: libvte.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory However, aptitude still worked. In aptitude, I did some tweaking with libvte-common. I'll attempt to be more specific with what i did, although I'm not completely sure what it was (>_<). Basically, I think I uninstalled the latest version which prompted it to install the previous version (or something like that.) Here's the aptitude output: dpkg - warning: downgrading python-vte from 0.13.5-0ubuntu2 to 0.12.1-0ubuntu1. (Reading database ... 152344 files and directories currently installed.) [Bug 56642] Re: MIME type incorrect
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gramps + + I use Ubuntu Dapper, GRAMPS 2.0.11-2, GNOME 2.14.3. I created a family database thing with gramps. Just to be sure (i had the same problem before and thought it was an installation problem), i saved the database as three different types of files: the normal one, GEDCOM, and something else. However, when I closed gramps and tried to open the three files, none of the files worked. I got the following error message (each with its respective filename, though): [code]Could not open file: /home/avi/family.grdb File type "x-extension-grdb" is unknown to GRAMPS. Valid types are: GRAMPS database, GRAMPS XML, GRAMPS package, and GEDCOM.[/code] At first, the GEDCOM file was detected as a GRAMPS-compatible file (although the GRAMPS still wouldn't open it). When I restarted the computer, however, the GEDCOM file was no longer detected as such. - I use Ubuntu Dapper, GRAMPS 2.0.11-2, GNOME 2.14.3. - I don't know if this would have any effect, but (before this happened), I was forced to reinstall ubuntu from the live install disk after edgy was (unwittingly) half-installed and I could only access ubuntu through the command line. Everything is working fine now except my sound and printer (which shouldn't affect this) and GRAMPS. Here's a link to a forum post in which this was discussed: http://gramps-project.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=390 -- MIME type incorrect https://launchpad.net/bugs/56642 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
