[Bug 1923053] Re: nextcloud crashed with SIGSEGV.

2021-04-20 Thread freak007
I have the same bug, nextcloud-devs ppa is also concerned by the problem.
After manually installed nextcloud 3.1.1 debian unstable packages,
nextcloud-desktop works.
I think there is maybe something wrong with compilation (lto?).

[Bug 562027] [NEW] openoffice: unable to shutdown / reboot / logout when quickstarter is active

2010-04-13 Thread freak007
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 AMD64 - Packages up-to-date (ooo
3.2.0-4-ubuntu3)

When quickstarter is active and when I open a ooo file, I'm unable to logout /
shutdown.
If I manually close quickstarter, I can shutdown fine my computer.

This problem occurred on my all personal and professional computer,
under 10.04 too.

If I don't open any ooo file during my session even with quickstart
activated, I can also shutdown my computer.

2008-11-24 Thread freak007
I can notice some changes with kernel loading:
- if I use my system with software RAID
- if I use my system without software RAID (duplicate system)

The kernel loading is faster without software RAID, and there is the two lines
if I boot with software RAID:
[5.030012] pci :00:1a.7: EHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug?) 01010001
[5.580012] pci :00:1d.7: EHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug?) 01010001

These lines don't exist in non-RAID boot.

Now everything works fine.

But I have not enough time to produce a proper patch. Maybe another

There is a problem with hibernation where there is 4GB of RAM on my
laptop.

Everything works fine with 2 GB.

Of course suspend to ram works like a charm with 2GB and 4GB of RAM

I think it's a kernel ' specific problem, because i have the same
problem on my desktop computer.

In the changelog of kernel 2.6.25-rc7 at kernel.org i found this comment:

x86: fix long standing bug with usb after hibernation with 4GB ram

aperture_64.c takes a piece of memory and makes it into iommu

PNP: do not test PNP_DRIVER_RES_DO_NOT_CHANGE on suspend/resume

The PNP_DRIVER_RES_DO_NOT_CHANGE flag is meant to signify that the PNP core
should not change resources for the device -- not that it shouldn't
disable/enable the device on suspend/resume.

ALSA ISAPnP drivers set PNP_DRIVER_RES_DO_NOT_CHANAGE (0x0001) through
setting PNP_DRIVER_RES_DISABLE (0x0003). The latter including the former
may in itself be considered rather unexpected but doesn't change that
suspend/resume wouldn't seem to have any business testing the flag.

As reported by Ondrej Zary for snd-cs4236, ALSA driven ISAPnP cards don't
survive swsusp hibernation with the resume skipping setting the resources
due to testing the flag -- the same test in the suspend path isn't enough
to keep hibernation from disabling the card it seems.

These tests were added (in 2005) by Piere Ossman in commit
68094e3251a664ee1389fcf179497237cbf78331, alsa: Improved PnP suspend
support who doesn't remember why. This deletes them.

commit a6eb84bc1e069e1d285167e09035ed6c27978feb

suspend: cleanup reference to swsusp_pg_dir[]

swsusp_pg_dir[] is used for suspend, but not for hibernation.
clean-up the ifdefs which worked by accident, while implying the opposite.
Delete the __nosavedata, which also implied the opposite.

Some day we may optimize CONFIG_ACPI_SLEEP to build minimal kernels
for just hibernate or just suspend but not both,
but today isn't that day.

I have just downloaded and installed this version of kernel package:

http://kernel-archive.buildserver.net/debian-
kernel/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/linux-2.6_2.6.25~rc6-1~experimental.1~snapshot.10965

and suspend to disk works fine

I think it's related to swsusp_pg_dir[] with __nosavedata from
2.6.25-rc1, but I'm not sure.

[Bug 206997] Re: [Hardy] kernel 2.6.24 - hibernation problem with 4GB RAM

2008-03-26 Thread freak007
I also tried 2.6.25-rc5 from http://kernel-archive.buildserver.net
/debian-kernel/ and the problem is present.

Changes between 2.6.25-rc5 and 2.6.25-rc6 solve the problem.

The changelog of 2.6.25-rc6 talks about the problem with the nosavepage:

commit a82f7119fd940c1505fc9fdf93d835fa52bc075d
Author: Rafael J. Wysocki [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Date: Wed Mar 12 00:34:57 2008 +0100

Hibernation: Fix mark_nosave_pages()

There is a problem in the hibernation code that triggers on some NUMA
systems on which pfn_valid() returns 'true' for some PFNs that don't
belong to any zone. Namely, there is a BUG_ON() in
memory_bm_find_bit() that triggers for PFNs not belonging to any
zone and passing the pfn_valid() test. On the affected systems it
triggers when we mark PFNs reported by the platform as not saveable,
because the PFNs in question belong to a region mapped directly using
iorepam() (i.e. the ACPI data area) and they pass the pfn_valid()
test.

Modify memory_bm_find_bit() so that it returns an error if given PFN
doesn't belong to any zone instead of crashing the kernel and ignore
the result returned by it in mark_nosave_pages(), while marking the
nosave memory regions.

This doesn't affect the hibernation functionality, as we won't touch
the PFNs in question anyway.

http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9966 .

Signed-off-by: Len Brown [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm unable to know if it's just specific or if lots of changes in the
kernel resolve the problem.

2008-03-13 Thread freak007
I have the same problem with different systems (i386, amd64) at work and at
home.
Disabling antialiasing has no effect.

With diagrams in calc the situation is very problematic for
productivity.

On i386, the problem doesn't appear with official openoffice 2.4.0rc2
packages.

The Xorg cpu usage increase very much when scrolling, and decrease after
scrolling.

System: Ubuntu Hardy, openoffice.org 2.4.0 rc2 - video driver: nvidia
169.12 (8600 GS, Geforce 6150, 8800 GTS).

[Bug 141435] Re: Cannot start from dmraid device anymore

2007-10-01 Thread freak007
After verification, it's a specific kernel bug. After upgrade, my gutsy is
today up to date, and I removed dmsetup package.
After update-initramfs -k 2.6.22-11.rt -u the system runs fine with this kernel
and not with 12.39.

The is some changes on kernel libata in 11.33 update (when the problem
happened):

linux-source-2.6.22 (2.6.22-11.33) gutsy; urgency=low
  [Ben Collins]

  * [LIBATA] Add more hard drives to blacklist.
  [Matthew Garrett]
  * Add support to libata-acpi for acpi-based bay hotplug
  [Upstream Kernel Changes]
  * [pata_marvell]: Add more identifiers

[Bug 141435] Re: Cannot start from dmraid device anymore

2007-10-01 Thread freak007
I found the problem, it's the hpa (host protected Area).

In the changelog of Debian's kernel 2.6.22-11.33:

linux-source-2.6.22 (2.6.22-11.33) gutsy; urgency=low
  [Ben Collins]
  * libata: Default to hpa being overridden

With 2.6.22-11.32, we have in dmesg:

[ 47.059365] ata1: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300)
[ 47.061544] ata1.00: Host Protected Area detected:

[ 47.061545] native size: 293046768 sectors
[ 47.061549] ata1.00: ATA-7: WDC WD1500ADFD-00NLR0, 19.06P19, max UDMA/133
[ 47.061551] ata1.00: 293044655 sectors, multi 0: LBA48 NCQ (depth 31/32)
[ 47.064371] ata1.00: Host Protected Area detected:

[ 47.064376] ata1.00: configured for UDMA/133
[

And with kernel = 2.6.22-11.33:

[ 60.453908] ata1: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300)
[ 60.456006] ata1.00: Host Protected Area detected:
[ 60.456007] current size: 293044655 sectors
[ 60.456008] native size: 293046768 sectors
[ 60.457150] ata1.00: native size increased to 293046768 sectors
[ 60.457154] ata1.00: ATA-7: WDC WD1500ADFD-00NLR0, 19.06P19, max UDMA/133
[ 60.457156] ata1.00: 293046768 sectors, multi 0: LBA48 NCQ (depth 31/32)
[ 60.459884] ata1.00: configured for UDMA/133

We can see the difference in number of sectors at lines 5,67.

Now, I'm pretty sure it's not a kernel problem, I think it's device-mapper,
dmraid, dmsetup or udev problem.
Be careful if you upgrade your gutsy today, if you install the new dmsetup
package, you can't boot with 2.6.22-11.32 !

Only solution: live cd + chroot + downgrade dmsetup package

[Bug 140748] Unable to boot after linux-image-2.6.22-11.33 rt or generic after upgrade

2007-09-18 Thread freak007
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

After upgrading my Gusty Distro this morning, it's not possible to boot to my
Raid0 system (intel ICH9 fakeraid).
The problem is with the device-mapper, /dev/mapper/isw_ebafidieif_ is unknown.

With kernel 2.6.22-11-32 rt or generic, all works fine.

I don't know if it's a kernel specific problem (libata modifications),
or with initrd or device-mapper.
