I simply replaced the script's MD5 checksums with the ones you provided.

[Bug 62060] Running command: sudo update-flashplugin Gives result: automatic installation failed due to network problems or upstream changes

2006-09-23 Thread fubadubrub
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

I installed flashplugin-nonfree version 7.0.63.3ubuntu3 via Synaptic.
In the pop up dialog in Synaptic for the flash plugin I clicked yes to
allow downloading the plugin. Then following the instructions located
at Gnome menu: System>Help>System Documentation I proceeded to use the
command: sudo update-flashplugin

This always spits out the result: automatic installation failed due to
network problems or upstream changes

Internet connection is working. I am trying to install the Firefox
Flash plugin on Dapper 6.0.6.1. Please note that I do not use Backports
on this particular Dapper installation and am not interested in using
Backports for flash. Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

[Bug 60446] Re: attempting to cp from one xfs partition to another results in kernel oops

2006-09-14 Thread fubadubrub
Forgot to add I was using Gnome-terminal. Also makes no difference
whether this is done with a fresh reboot and not using computer while
operation takes place or using other programs.

Right clicking on /usr/local/games/X-Plane 8.40 in Nautilus and selecting
properties shows:
27108 items, totalling 55.9 GB

Free space on /usr/local shows as 54.3 GB

Right clicking on /home in Nautilus and selecting properties shows Free
space 343.0 GB

[Bug 60446] attempting to cp from one xfs partition to another results in kernel oops

2006-09-14 Thread fubadubrub
Public bug reported:

Using the command listed below results eventually in a kernel oops and
sometimes in a total computer system lockup. Total lockup is uncommon though,
kernel mainly goes oops. All Edgy Eft 6.10 updates applied as of 9 AM Pacific
time USA, Thursday Sep 14. Also I can not currently check out this problem
with latest kernel due to this bug here:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/59792
Problem occurs with kernel 2.6.17-6-686.

Problem command
sudo cp -r /usr/local/games/X-Plane\ 8.40 /home/username

Listed below is the relevant output of kernel.log, messages.log,
syslog.log. Below the log outputs is my current fstab.

I opened Synaptic and entered as a search term upstart and got back 3
responses.

upstart 0.2.5-1
upstart-compat-sysv 0.2.5-1
These 2 are installed.

However I also saw that this package was not installed.

[Bug 60010] KDE users have sexy GUI way to launch FlightGear, what about Gnome users.

Public bug reported:

KDE users currently have a sexy GUI method of launching FlightGear what
about Gnome users. The KDE GUI launcher is located here:

I would like to see an equivalent sexy FlightGear GUI launcher for Gnome
users. And I do not mean that ugly Windows launcher called fgrun
(FlightGear Launch Control). Please dig into your wizards hat and get
your black kettle full of salamanders and nightshades, don't forget your
crystal skull and whip up us Gnome users a sexy GUI FlightGear launcher.

I was using gnome terminal and using the command of fgfs to launch

you all can see the command line options I am using. If you all need

Running the python script attachment available here allows the DVD

Should have added sometimes, it is touch and go. The script does not
always get Plextor burner working.

[Bug 14692] Re: hal detects written DVD as empty

2006-08-25 Thread fubadubrub
Hello I can confirm this bug as well. I recently installed a new DVD
burner the Plextor PX-760A a dual layer DVD burner on pata. CD disc
worked perfectly but not DVDs. Howver running the python script
attachment available here allows the DVD burner to work perfectly for
DVD disc as well. The DVD burner is a secondary master with no
secondary slave. It is E-IDE (ATAPI).

Am I correct in assuming that I can run your python script automatically
via sessions>startup programs menu entry?

python cdcaps.py /dev/hdc
CDO_USE_FFLAGS returned 13
got drive capabilities: 21ffef
