[Bug 125160] Re: Screensaver is active while still in session with terminal server client

2009-09-10 Thread Fuchur
Yes this is still a problem in Jaunty.

Turning screensaver off solves the problem.
But that is like switching back to windows cause I like the start button to
switch off my PC...

Hope we can get a fix soon as it will make ubuntu greener for us, as now
screensaver is switched off.

[Bug 425088] [NEW] MSI X-Slim 340 - Front Mic not working

2009-09-06 Thread Fuchur
Public bug reported:

Dearest Developers and advanced users,

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -
About Ubuntu.
Description:Ubuntu 9.04
Release:9.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename'
or by checking in Synaptic.
Did try more then one thing to install. Like skype 2.1, pulse volume control
and more. But didn solve the problem.

3) What you expected to happen
That by changing the volume settings of front mic and front mic boost the front
mic (mic fisiclay on the screen edge next to the camera would start working on
my MSI X-slim 340 Laptop (In MS VISTA that is installed by default :-( it does
work...) This seems to make it an ubuntu bug I believe. If not please correct
me.

4) What happened instead
The front mic settings in volume control are in fact for the mic jack on the
side which works perfectly! But dont always want to run for my external mic if
someone calls me. And it seems naming in that case is wrong.

If any more info is needed please let me know exactly how to fetch it
please. No Ubuntu newbie but lets say novice user.

Many Thanks,

Frank

[Bug 346691] Re: jaunty kernel 2.6.28-11 kernel update renders the system un-usable.

2009-04-27 Thread fuchur
Ok, as this seems the original bug report:

Until this is fixed, I am thinking about using a new kernel, but

a) which problems could this cause - there must be a reason that kernels
are never replaced during a release cycle

b) how would I do this - apt-get typically hangs after a few packages are
downloaded, and the file system quickly gets read-only.
could I install the new kernel to intrepid and then dist-upgrade to jaunty? how
is the correct procedure

c)If this bug was known march 20, and confirmed some days before the
release, why is there not even at least some remark in the release
notes ?

[Bug 350268] Re: [Jaunty beta] many ext4-fs errors

2009-04-24 Thread fuchur
Since Jaunty is released, I installed it on a partition on my harddisk, hoping
that the released version would work for me.
As soon as I installed a few packages, these file system errors show up again,
so I used an intrepid live-cd to fix the errors and than booted to intrepid. As
usual, no file system errors in intrepid.

I am providing some of the files requested above:

note that while kern.log and fstab are from the jaunty partition, the

[Bug 360970] Re: Configure display settings - Icons off screen! 9.04db

2009-04-22 Thread Fuchur
 * Is this reproducible?

1 I think it will be. Delete the file that is written to your config when you
do a dual screen for the first time (Donot know location from heart.)
2 Place an Icon under the start button
2 Connect second monitor
3 set the settings off the monitor to look like the file in my first post. So
not aligned and new monitor on the left side!
4 login again...
5 Icons will be in the invisable top left corner

 * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
Personally the problem is not only the icons...
The mouse can still go into that area...
So Ubuntu sees the black bits from picture attached in first post as
desktop-space while this is not.

Hope this helps!

Ta Frank

same phenomenon here, in case it has not been noted I just want to add
that all (r)om, kaliif (according to ubuntuforums) and the fedora user
all use 64 bit jaunty.
