[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution
Updated to last BIOS version I could find (F.06 : http://www.hp2133guide.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1888). Did another full system update of Ubuntu 9.04. Checked out a clean SVN source tree for openchrome, build & installed. 1st cold boot --> Xorg.0.log.svn_clean Made the change as adviced, 2nd cold boot --> Xorg.0.log.patched Hope this helps. r. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log.clean_svn" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24881282/Xorg.0.log.clean_svn -- wrong screen resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Upgraded tot Alpha 6 still same issue. Anyone an idea if this is looked after or not? Currently I have resolution set at 1366x768 which looks "best" font wise. Two more questions if I may. How come my xorg.conf is "empty"? When I look at for instance at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HP2133 then the xorg.conf should contain a lot more information? My xorg.conf is attached. Also when I try the command as stated in the xorg.conf to reconfigure xserver all I get is the following message, f...@maximini:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg xserver-xorg postinst warning: overwriting possibly-customised configuration file; backup in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.20090304213509 f...@maximini:~$ How come? I (tried to) installed the last version from SVN for openchrome and now the driver seem to get loaded. My netbook is detected but the resolution is still not correct. [Bug 198122] Re: startup hangs in i5000_edac.c
Just for the record. The release of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS works great. Boots fine and quickly. I still do have a lot of 'non-fatal' messages but the system is stable and everything works up to now (expect my screen resolution - but that's another topic :-)). I mentioned my 'issues' on the EDAC mailing list also. Thanks for listening. Keep up to the good work. [Bug 198122] Re: startup hangs in i5000_edac.c
I've done some more investigations. I have the following setting in the BIOS of the motherboard, SERR Signal Condition This setting species the ECC Error conditions that an SERR# is to be asserted. The options are None, Single Bit, Multiple Bit, and Both. When I use None or Single Bit the system can boot but as mentioned above shows a LOT of non-fatal errors. When I use Multiple or Both the system does not boot as it was before beta 1. I've run memtest (v2.01, http://www.memtest.org/) with and without ECC during a night (+8 hours) and it found no errors. Besides that, the system has been running fine for almost a year on Ubuntu 7.10. I really hope someone is looking into to this (if so please give me some feedback).
