[Bug 501331] [NEW] modules.dep is missing on the initrd

2009-12-29 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

I used mkinitramfs and added manually kernel modules.
The commands I tried where copy_modules_dir and manual_add_modules.
Both commands ran successful and the module is contained in the initrd.
But modprobe fails because the created initrd doesn't contain the modules.dep.

I need to mount the root partition before I can use modprobe.

I wrote a hook which copies the modules.dep:

cp "/lib/modules/${version}/modules.dep" "${DESTDIR}/${MODULESDIR}/"

[Bug 407163] [NEW] No dial up possible

2009-07-30 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nozomi-source

I installed Karmic Alpha 3 and all updates (31 July) and tried to get
online with my Globetrotter 3G. I have a running setup NetworkManager
or wvdial on 8.04 using this card.

So I tried to get something up and running using the old wvdial configuration
file.
Tried it via NetworkManager with the old configuration and then created a new
configuration and nothing worked.

It seems that the card starts to connect and then a timeout occured. But
their are no further error codes from wvdial / pppd / networkManager.

I don't know how which data is helpful for you... so just ask for it.

[Bug 392131] [NEW] Notification Area: Icon order depends on the startup sequence

2009-06-25 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

The order of the icons displayed depends on the startup sequence of programs
that display an icon.
It would be easier, if the icons would maintain the order.

Possible solutions:
1. Let the user reorder the icons and save it.

Easier:
2. Order the icons by the name of the program.

[Bug 382737] [NEW] Create VM's using the successor of the currently used Ubuntu

2009-06-02 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

It would be nice, if the ubuntu-vm-builder could create VM's using the

[Bug 316073] [NEW] NetworkManager ignores plugin event of UMTS card

2009-01-11 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

I use an Option G3+ UMTS card and everything works fine. The network was
configured using NetworkManager and the connection is set to connect
automatically. If I boot my notebook with the card the connection is
established, but if I insert the card after boot up nothing happens. I
assume that NM ignores the HAL event when I plugin the card. So I need
to connect manually via the systray module.

[Bug 315384] [NEW] Evolution ignoring NetworkManager signals (connection [not] avail)

2009-01-09 Thread g00se

I was trying to get DBUS signals, when the network status (online / offline)
changes. So far NetworkManager did report everything (got the signals using a

didn't reacted it was always online and trying to receive mails.

[Bug 298320] [NEW] Since upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 Evolution can't refresh my folders (imap).

2008-11-15 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi!
My problem is evolution only shows my folder structure of my imap account
(cyrus 2.2; server configuration known to be running; no recent upgrades; auth:
gssapi) and says: Error while refreshing folder. Could not connect to -
Connection refused.

I reset all the evolution gconf stuff and deleted .evolution. Readding
my account results in the same. Furthermore evolution can't detect for
imap the authentification type... but he can connect, cause he asks if
the certificate is valid.

Thanks at all. Hopefully it will be fixed fast, cause webmail sucks.

[Bug 220249] [NEW] Apple Wireless keyboard needs a manual disconnect before reconnecting.

2008-04-21 Thread g00se
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-bluetooth

Hello,

I bought me four days ago the small Apple Wireless Keyboard and tried to
get it working. The best part was that I couldn't get it working under
Windows XP ^^. To get it running with Hardy cost me 5 min! Really cool!
The last problem is that if the keyboard goes to sleep gnome doesn't
recognize that the connection is down. So I believe gnome doesn't allow
a reconnect, cause it seems from his perspective connect. If I
disconnect the keyboard via gnome-bluetooth and start typing everything
works again!

Since my bluetooth adapter blinks with an LED when it receives or
transmits I know that it receives something (the keyboard is curently
the only bluetooth device near by).
