Find attached the dmesg and lspci logs of the tests. I tried first with the standard linux-modules, later with the jaunty- backports. [Bug 193970] Re: iwl3945: Wireless can't be activated if kill switch was on at boot
Answering to myself in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux- ubuntu-modules-2.6.24/+bug/193970/comments/19. Forget it, it's ridiculous, the hardware wifi switch was off and the driver does the right thing: disables the device. -- iwl3945: Wireless can't be activated if kill switch was on at boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/193970 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm suffering this problem but just with kernel 2.6.24-14-generic. It worked fine until 2.6.24-12 (included). [Bug 198476] Re: [REGRESSION] Impossible to change LCD brightness on Thinkpad R61/T61/X61
I can confirm the regression in my Lenovo Thinkpad X61_s. Brightness buttons worked in Gutsy and stopped working in Hardy. However brightness buttons do work if I boot with Gutsy kernel (2.6.22-14-generic). So I think is a kernel package related problem. -- [REGRESSION] Impossible to change LCD brightness on Thinkpad R61/T61/X61 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198476 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 152011] Re: gutsy: compiz makes some applications block or die
After several test I discovered that: - The error message was related to another x11 configuration bug. Some program had added a second screen configuration to xorg.conf. That caused the error message and also slow down --a lot-- Tilda. - Gnome appearence configuration (gnome-appearence-properties) still does not work. [Bug 152011] gutsy: compiz makes some applications block or die
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz gnome-appearence-properties blocks and no interactions is possible. If it started from the console it gives the following errors (I think they are related): X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 158 Major opcode: 146 Minor opcode: 3 Resource id: 0x0 Failed to open device I thought it's related to compiz libraries (although they are not enabled), so I purged compiz package and the the desktop becomes unusable because the windows manager dies when the session is started.
