[Bug 145176] Two things missing?

Unknown device 2031 based ethernet NIC card detected as "Realtek card in xp sp2 is not recognized ".causing me great frustration.what are the chances it will be recognized in future. [Bug 126397] need some packages-wishlist
Public bug reported: I got serious problem with GDM both in fawn and dapper whenever it crashes i cant login back,so there needs an alternative to reinstall or abilty to login without gdm.Also some request of packages not in repo's.also some custom apps install broke my system in dapper.
