[Bug 692355] [NEW] fsck doesn't update system info on login
Public bug reported: Every time I login to my Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha 1 (server), I see this message: *** /dev/sda5 will be checked for errors at next reboot *** I have done both the 'touch /forcefsck' (file is gone after reboot) and I have done 'shutdown -rF now' and yet the message is still displayed. I checked my boot.log and fsck did run: fsck from util-linux-ng 2.17.2 fsck from util-linux-ng 2.17.2 /dev/mapper/sh*tbox1-root: clean, 103845/4669440 files, 1179707/18669568 blocks /dev/sda5: clean, 245/124496 files, 83515/248976 blocks Since fsck did run successfully, the '*** /dev/sda5 will be checked for errors at next reboot ***' message should not appear again unless the system has determined the filesystem is dirty. I seriously doubt that this not very old drive is having this many problems, especially since the OS runs 24/7 with no problems besides this. lsb_release -rd: Description:Ubuntu natty (development branch) Release:11.04 uname -a output: Linux node1 2.6.37-10-server #24-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 16 18:10:40 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: alpha error fsck login natty ** Tags added: alpha error fsck login natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692355 Title: fsck doesn't update system info on login -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 155942] Re: High RAM usage
My uptime is currently 14 days, 4 hours 21 minutes, and Nautilus is once again using 488.3MB of RAM. Nothing updated, nothing changed, just normal usage. If I kill the process, it respawns with normal RAM usage. (At least I found something that uses more RAM then Firefox. *grin*) ** Attachment added: screen.jpg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10689504/screen.jpg -- High RAM usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 156781] gedit lags while editing certain files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit I'm using GFTP to connect to my web server and then I'm using the edit option to work on various files, mostly PHP code, which calls Gedit. Now when doing this, the file is copied to the /tmp directory and given a random name, etc etc. Now while I editing this file, it lags behind what I'm typing. I could type 10 characters and it take 10 seconds for those 10 characters to appear on the screen. This only happens when I use Gedit in this way. If I start a new file and type in it, no problems. If I open an HTML or PHP file that's already on my local drive, there is no lag. [Bug 152362] Re: icedtea-java7-plugin always crashes firefox
I tried self building. It didn't work. It took a few hours to download and compile everything successfully, but it still doesn't work. When I visit http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jretry=1 it tells me that additional plugins are required to display all of the media on this page. So I start the plugin finder and it tells me I need the GCJ web browser plugin. So I tell it to download it. And then it says that it's already installed. [Bug 155942] High RAM usage
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I'm running the 64bit Ubuntu 7.10. I don't even have Nautilus open at this time, but I see it Sleeping in the System Monitor and it's using 723.3MB of RAM. [Bug 153918] Screens and Graphics Preferences fails to detect updated monitor.
Public bug reported: AMD64 installation of Ubuntu 7.10. Earlier this week I had a Dell 2407WFP(Rev A04) which was detected correctly by the Choose Screen - Detect option in the Screen and Graphics Preferences. Yesterday, I replaced the Dell 2407WFP (Rev A04) with a Dell 2407WFP-HC (Rev A00 / Manufactured 9/2007). This new monitor is still a 24 widescreen from Dell, but it's an update version with a High Color gamut(92% vs 72%). When I click on Detect it selects Generic - Plug 'n' Play instead of Dell - 2407WFP (Digital) like it was before. When I manually select Dell - 2407WFP (Digital), Ubuntu works as it should. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Screens and Graphics Preferences fails to detect updated monitor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153918 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
