OK. Thanx - that (gnash) restored YouTube to my Firefox browser, however, CBC Radio is still not streaming in Firefox. Works fine on Google Chrome, but not Firefox or Opera. - Original Message - From: .cobnet 968...@bugs.launchpad.net Date: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 12:06 pm Subject: [Bug 968759] Re: adobe-flashplugin 11.2.202.228-0lucid1freezes firefox display - crashes some webkit programs (depends on cpu) To: chucklebe...@shaw.ca My parents have the same problem on their AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+. At one moment (after an update I guess), the black frame (where eg. the Youtube video should be) changed to a white frame. But of course white, black or some other colour: it didn't work :-(. Workaround that I used on my parents pc: install browser-plugin-gnash. At the moment everything seems to work. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to a duplicate bug report (969690). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968759 Title: adobe-flashplugin 11.2.202.228-0lucid1freezes firefox display - crashes some webkit programs (depends on cpu) Status in “adobe-flashplugin” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “flashplugin-nonfree” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Using Firefox 11.0 and the Adobe's Shockwave Flash 11.1.202.228 in youtube. [Bug 969690] [NEW] CBC radio no longer streams after yesterday's Adobe update
Public bug reported: Adobe automatically updated yesterday March 30, none of CBC radio's streaming audio stations work anymore. The audio window comes up, but nothing happens. It might be CBC's problem they're a Windows outfit not very bright, but it seems to coincide with that Adobe update. Has also affected the Chromium browser. On further investigation, my Live365 CKUA Radio audio streams also no longer work on either browser. The audio windows come up but nothing happens. I use Ubuntu 11.10 on a desktop machine. Re: [Bug 969690] Re: CBC radio no longer streams after yesterday's Adobe update
Hi Chris The reason I reported it against Firefox is that there is a Report a Problem link on the Help menu. Figured that since I use Firefox to listen to CBC, that the Firefox people might be interested. Trying to report something to Adobe is next to impossible. I reported it right away to CBC yesterday, but unless its happening on Windows or iPods, it will take them a while to get around to looking into it. Meanwhile, my old netbook still has Ubuntu 10.04 on it, so its now playing audio streams. Coincidently, Adobe's Flash is offering to update itself on the netbook. but I am declining the offer. Meanwhile, I am going to install a fresh 10.04 on a spare hard drive, do all the updates except Adobe's see what happens regarding CBC streaming audio. Then I will apply that update to see what happens again. Is there a way to un-install a particular update thus have the system revert back to its pre-update condition ? But back to your why question. It is the most obvious, most available link to actually getting something going when you experience problems with Ubuntu. Thanx for responding. -George - Original Message - From: Chris Coulson chris.coul...@canonical.com Date: Friday, March 30, 2012 5:45 pm Subject: [Bug 969690] Re: CBC radio no longer streams after yesterday's Adobe update To: chucklebe...@shaw.ca Thanks, but why report it against Firefox when you already confirmed Flash broke it and it happens in Chromium too?
